Just finished the one day defensive handgun course couple hours ago.  Gotta say it was fantastic..  For those of you who haven't taken any formal training, Joe and his staff are very good about explaining and demonstrating what they expect from you during the drills..  This was the first time I've ever trained at night and let me tell you it's a totally different world, I was never against night sites but never cared much whether I had them or not.  After tonight night sites are going to be a requirement.

Joe, can't thank you enough for putting this class together on such short notice.  Met some great people, and learned alot.  Looking forward to your next class.

Take care,

John P..

Edicut's getting all trained up!!! Way to go! Was there a lot of new stuff? How was shooting in the dark?

Shooting in the dark will definately put you in your place if you haven't done it, especially if you happen to be using a pistol without night sights and only using ambient moonlight as your lighting at the time..  We  trained non weapon mounted  flashlights also, which was a kick in the ass as well.  Try doing a mag change with flash light in one hand and pistol in the other(Joe will show you how)..

We were also schooled in engaging targets with a vehicle as cover and from inside a vehicle..  I still have brass somewhere in my car rolling around, I can here it everytime I go around a corner hehe..

And to top off the evening, I ended up giving Joe the slide to my HK USP so he can have PT install night sights on it.

The course was definately worth the money.  I had a good time, definately am interested in the carbine course though.

Yeah, I won't buy a pistol without night sights. Or at least have them installed shortly after purchase. I can't wait to attend my next class!

+1 Edicut. I also took the class yesterday. The class was very informative. This is the second class I've taken from Joe, and it won't be my last! I've even recomended the CCW course to some friends. I've got to say I learned alot, and founds some opertunity's to work on in the future. Good class and great instructor. What more could you ask for. If you missed it you really missed out. Can't wait for the next one.

First, I would like to thank all of those who attended the Defensive Handgun Course on November 5th, on a job well done! I couldn't have asked for a better group of students.

I am happy to know that the aggregation of participants learned new life saving skills and had a great time. I also appreciate all of the positive feedback everyone posted in this thread.

I hope the graduates from Sunday's course will consider coming back for more training, and I hope others that want to further their proficiency will consider instruction with Line of Fire, LLC.

Be Safe.
