Hey OT Very nice my friend, if you dont mind I would actually like to read up on thies ancient viking runes and symbols so if you know any website or good books to read it would be greatly appreciate as I love to read about stuff of this nature. Yeah mine is healing pretty good I would say, the artist just sayd wash with antibacterial soap 2 times a day then cover with lotion 2-3 times a day for the first 2-3 weeks. Seems to be doing good, than again its only been 24hr's and I was curious what are your method of choice that is working for you? Thanks OT Again, I am really impressed with your symbol's |

Aaron001..... Sure here is a couple....very interesting stuff here............... there alot of info on thses 2 sites. Im using Aand D ointment...supposed to be used for tatts. I dont put anything else on them. dont put nepsporene on it...bad for it. You ought to see if you can find a small tube of A&D at a pharmacy. I know most the guys who are doing tatts use it. My son usese it and my daughter. thier both into tatts. My wife is about to get a big celtic symbol done....not the regular celtic stuff you see...were into the ancient stuff....celts and vikings were both covered in tatts...the iceman they found in the Alps had 56 tattoos....on his hands, feet, fingers...damn near everywhere. The feedback has been great guys, I appreciate it. I actually had it done by over at pricz by shane, it def came out as I expected it to. I had doubts about the feather being so small that it might need to go bigger but it came out perfect! Tat, do you think my artist recommended the best aftercare process? Awsome work man!, browsed threw your art and I must say you are most def a talented individual! Simply amazing work my friend! OT: I appreciate those links my friend and will read threw both of those sites this evening and tomorrow when I get in, I appreciate it and am looking forward to learning about the meanings and culture of thies symbols. Much appreciated I heard A&D ointment aswell but I went to the local shop and there are so many different A&D ointment's that I was confused on which to get ![]() I should go pick some up.....does it help contain moisture aswell? |
Thanks WP................I had to show my 2 cents worth in here. First is my son's initials and the second is my favorite pistol with a little old hippie shit...................My other one is in the making, Old Troop reminded me of it.............like his but it's the Italian horn, along with fingers up to wart off evil things along with my favorites Italian's initials wound up in barb wire.

Awsome work man!, browsed threw your art and I must say you are most def a talented individual! Simply amazing work my friend! shane is a great guy!! and a fine tattooer too boot!! he is right on with the care procedures man go with what he told ya bro.the only thing i would add is when you wash it be sure to let it dry about an hour before ya apply your lotion man, that lets the ecess moisture from washing it evaporate before you add more to tha tattoo! that way you are'nt overmoisturizing it! thanx to you and ot for tha kind words man it means alot!!-fed e.t.a. DON'T use a&d or anything like it dueing your healing process!!!! especially during these hot summers! you might as well coat it with cookin oil and be done because that is what puttin a petrolatum based product on a new tattoo is like!! that stuff collects airborn germs and your skin absorbs those germs through that base!! also we are made up of a large percentage of water and it is better to use a water based lotion instead of an oil based product.the lotion sinks in and you get healing from the inside out which is better than outside in when it comes to tattoos. i seen aquafor mentioned and that stuff is great!! is very water based and therefore more compatible with you and your skin!!-fed |
| tat2knife...is that something new they use????? All the guys up here use A&D???? This is the first tatt Ive gotten in about 15 years and the last one was done at my kitchen table. Then a couple done by an old guy in Monterey calif when I was 17 stationed at Ft. Ord, he had been tattooing soildiers out of Fort Ord for about 30 years. Both my son and daughter have tatts...my daughters has her whole back done as a wizard on it and my sons covers all of one shoulder and down his arm. My wife is going to get a celtic design in a few weeks. |
after I got out of the Army I drove a cab at Ft. Ord for sbout a year....seems like I couldnt get away from that damn place. I used to party a hell of alot in Seaside and Montery. What are they doing there now???? i dont think they train troops there anymore????? LT |
hey ot,yeah aquafor is a newer lotion that has'nt been out long but it has gained a really good rep really quick!! i usually reccomend curel lotion or any high quality lotion(except lubriderm!! too much lanolin and alcohol!) that is fragrance free. A&D has been used for years and ihave seen many problems mainly because folks don't know how to use it,and also the problems i mentioned earlier. overall the most important thing that any one can do for a new tattoo is simply keep it clean! other than that the body will take care of itself.-fed |

Was it Steve Hendricks at Gold Coast Tattoo? My buddy worked there for awhile, now he owns a shop in folsom. Ft. Ord is now Cal State University Monterey Bay,(aka U.F.O.= University Fort Ord) and there are now new houses built on the base mostly by Seaside H.S. I lived in Monterey for 10 years. |
I dont think its the same guy.....the guy I knew is more than likely dead....he was an old fart when I met him. |
| AH ok, Steve Hendricks when I knew him was in his 40's this was 10 years ago. He was the owner of Gold Coast the only Tattoo parlor in Marina which had a mostly military clientele. I remember there was a tattoo parlor in Monterey that was ran out of business by the Hell's Angels in the early 90's (that was the rumor anyway). Steve eventually opened another shop in Monterey around '96. |
Yeah Bill did most of my work he's a friend of mine from the High School days. He now owns Folsom City Ink. I remember Schmoe too, man that was years ago. edit: FYI Bills Dad was S.W.A.T. for Pacific Grove, so he's very pro L.E.O. and Pro Gun. Here's my favorite piece by Bill. ![]() |
