I'm not sure WP, I don't spend much time Downtown (unless I am at the at the 777 get-togethers) so I can't say for sure. Perhaps the hotel is the Golden Nugget, or the California? If sworn police officers are bound to abide by probable cause guidelines contained in the United States Constitution (4th Amendment), regarding Search and Seizure, where the Hell does this property get-off imposing this infringement on its guests with uncontrolled impunity? 4th Amendment to the Constitution Of the United States of America: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. I am not a fan of the ACLU, but I would suggest that someone call and ask Gary Peck, Executive Director of the Nevada ACLU, and ACLU General Counsel Allen Lichtenstein, what they think of this moronic violation of our civil rights..... The Patriot Act..... A blank check for Terrorists..... Be Safe. Joe |
What were they looking for in your trunk at the Bellagio MQ-1_Spec? Really, what were they looking for? Those searches are all about posing and feel good, liberal bullshit. The Hajis are soooo fuckin' smart. Just look at 9/11: Five years in the making, they met here in Vegas, everybody knew (government agencies), and look what happened.... Once again, what were they looking for in your trunk at the Ballagio, a 737? Wow, the more I hear about this shit the safer I feel. Thanks for the heads-up MQ , I wont be staying at the Bellagio anytime soon. Be Safe. Joe |
I was originally going to include the Horseshoe in my guess, but I think Benny would turn over in his grave if he ever heard of such NONSENSE.... I too hope it isn't Main Street Station, or the Cali Hotel. I guess we'll soon find out when WP lets the proverbial "cat" out of the bag... Be Safe, RD. Joe |

What do you guys have to hide? This is about the safety of America. If it saves just one child's life, it will have been worth it! Seriously, I can't wait to see how this turd flies. ACLU, yeah , they're gonna help. They only get involved in issues that center on homosexuality and drug use. Maybe you could interest them in that angle. "Hey man! I just wanna carry my pot, my gay porn and play 21 man! That's unreasonable." |
| What's the problem? It's thier hotel, they can do what they want and customers have the right not to go inside if they don't like it. Besides, it's a shitty hotel in a shitty part of town. I doubt they are worried about locals CCW'ing but rather the "upstanding" people who hang around that area before they call it a night and go back to thier cardboard boxes to sleep it off. Do you also object to being searched before boarding an airplane? |
Funny thing was, they didn't search they just opened and looked. Like if i was going to have something in there that it would be just hanging out in plain sight. Morons!! Airport security doesn't bother me to bad, except for when I'm traveling on military orders. I was always told that I could bypass all the crap if on orders, but, nope I'm taking my boots off with everyone else. hinking.gif Dan |
| The Fourth Amendment applies to Government Intrusions on our right to privacy. Main Street Station can is not subject to Fourth Amendment restrictions, as it is a private commercial organization. They have every right to search you prior to entering their facility as long as they apply it equally to all visitors, ie, they don't target just one race, ethnic group, religion, sex, etc. |
Yo HELLBRINGER, I agree that they have the right to do what they want on their own private property. On the other hand I absolutely object to being searched before boarding a commercial airliner. I think that ALL passengers who wish to carry on board should be allowed to do so. Why should my right to self-defense be left behind at the gate with a TSA Queen named Shequequa? (pronounced Sha-Kwee-Kwah) I notice you are from Kommiefornia, so I guess you are used being told how to live your life in "The Land of NO." Be Safe. Joe |
I think it's funny. On the show cops, officers are always asking suspects when they are searching them if the have any "knives, guns, hand grenades, rocket launchers, nuclear bombs, etc... I wonder what security would have done if you had a steel box in your trunk labeled: "NUCLEAR BOMB ENCLOSED" LMFAO!!!! |
It's not. In my experience at Main Street the guards are pro-gun. I have had a few make positive comments about the plates on my truck, ColtM4 and have talked guns with them as well. This is probably the idea of a paper pusher that saw the same thing somewhere else and decided he needed a project. In my opinion Main Street is the safest hotel in the valley, sure they are right next to skid row but the guards are all armed, inside and out and they walk around in pairs or more. |

But since it's in the interest of "Homeland Security" what's the problem if the constitution in run through the shredder and civil liberties are ignored? After all, in order to protect the rights you value so much, those rights have to be systematically removed, one-at-a-time at a rate which nobody will notice. Then ten years down the line, when you have been effectively stripped of all your rights and liberties you'll wake up and wonder what happened. But you will live in a state where you perceive yourself to be in a safer environment, regardless of the fact that you are no better off--although more likely worse off--than you were before. Ultimately the loss of your liberties was "for a good cause." Hey, it's the government and they're here to help. And they are encouring private enterprises to overstep their bounds and do the same to expedite the process. After all, we know how the parking garage attendants are responsible for identifying hundreds of pounds of bomb making materials and other weapons of terrorism every day! |

..I SAID QUIT RESISTING!!!!!!!!!!!
