Been a while since I've been around so I figgured I'd drop in again.

One of these days I hope to get out to a DBS shoot. I won a FAL in a raffle that I'm trying to figgure out what to do with.  It's heavy and I think the design/engineering can best be described as "interresting."

Ran into a DBS shoot a few months back when I was off in the hills looking for coyotes to shoot.  Some fun looking toys out there, maybe I'll get a chance to stop by again sometime.

Still sitting on my CCW paperwork.  Took the class with Joe Nizzari that Wolfpack recommended, and it was a very good class.  Fun too!  Now I just need to find the time to spend up at Metro.

I remember you.  How have you been?  Next DBS is Feb 21st.  Hope you can make it.

The last shoot was pretty top heavy with FAL's.  There are several DBS'rs that are very knowledgeable about FALs.  After the AK builds are well underway, some of us plan on doing a FAL build next.

I'll see what the wife has going on for me.  I've got a guard drill that is earlier in the month IIRC.

The FAL is a Hesse.  I know, not something that is highly sought after, but free is free, and as long as it goes bang and sends the bullets in the right direction, I'm happy.

I don't know what kind of accuracy to expect from a FAL.  With my AR-15 and my handloads I can cover 5 shots at 100 yards with a dime.  If the FAL turned out to be that accurate I'd be tempted to quarter bore and Ackley it for some long range fun.  Sure I could do a .243, but that's so over-the-counter :)  But even if it wasn't a Hesse it'd be cheaper to do that with a 700 action, Savage, or even a T/C.

Glenn, we will have to meet at the mine on 93 and shoot again someday before it gets too hot.

Sounds good.  I think March is probably the next month I'll have much weekend time free...
