I don't want to get all political since this is such a polarizing topic these days but wanted to share a story with anyone who cares to read it.

On my way home from work yesterday, I heard a troubling story. A kid on a school playground, with sidewalk chalk, wrote "Make America Great Again" on the asphalt.  This is awesome other than the fact another girl saw this on the ground and ran to the teacher telling her "I need to go to the safe zone because I am scared". As bad as this sounds I get home and tell my 16 year old step daughter about it and she says "When was America ever great?" My heart sank. I don't expect everyone to be as patriotic as I am, I have an American flag tattooed on my arm. I told her "you know people have died for you to be able to vote and have freedoms" but in all reality I can't chastise her because we as parents have failed our youth. How did we get here!

JFK by today's standards was pretty conservative. I am a staunch conservative but his quote "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what can you do for your country" really could help us now!

"We" have not failed our Youth..       America IS Great.   I refuse to apologize for being a nation of opportunities only limited by the ambitions of individuals.  The difference between great success and great failure narratives is the behavior in the face of adversity.    USA is still a choice destination for  immigrants who can thrive as small business owners.  Native born entrepreneurs continue to have opportunities to thrive.   High School graduates have the opportunity to thrive in the service industry at a minimum.  . Anyone who is willing to travel can find work in the skilled trades.  Our technical schools continue to adapt and improve.  I refuse to participate in any pity party.

16yr old huh? Girl too.

Does she have a phone? Tablet? Etc?

How much time, do you know of, does she spend on liberal ran FB? How about snap chat? Ever see what is going back & forth on there? It will teach you a lot about your kids friends & the ideals they are being exposed to.

Place to start.

All of the above! She is somewhat spoiled. Wife and I never had all the luxuries the kids have now so we indulged her. Don't get me wrong she is a good kid but a poster child for the millennials. One of her friends is a big hunter and seems to be somewhat conservative which is good.
