| Anybody who lives close to the lake or involved with this know how likely it is that the tournament will still happen considering the weather this year? |
| Yup, still on. Lake has 10-15" of ice. Looks like truck bridges may be out this weekend for vehicle travel. ATV bridges went out a day or 2 ago. Walleye bite seems to be quite good out in the mud. Stay away from the mount of the river as always and should be fine. |

I know it all depends on the weather but have you heard any estimates for how thick the ice will be during the tournament?
Im kind of a newbie at ice fishing and went last year with a group of friends for the first time. Ice freaks me out, even when it was 24" or so last year lol. |
| Well it's coming up quick, any updates on the lake? How's the ice? I wouldn't be mad if you shared any tips for catching fish either lol. Our group has went up there for 5 years in a row now and haven't been able to catch anything, literally. We don't have any problems around here but bago seems to be our kryptonite. |

Well, where on bago do you usually go? Bago is hoppin' if you know where to go. Ice is a good 18" in most places, stay away from the river and large cracks as usual and you should be fine. Was out this past weekend and managed a couple walleye over 23" and a slew of white bass. |

Last year was the first year my buddy convinced me to go with the group despite my fear of ice. So I'm not sure where they hit before but I know last year we stayed in a hotel in Fond du lac and drove up to Pipe and got on the lake there. I'm not sure the exact spot my buddy had picked out but we didn't drive really far on the ice, I mean we were out there a good ways but it's not like we drove across the whole thing lol. We also tried over by Oshkosh somewhere on a different day.
I guess I'm not necessarily asking for specific locations but what kind terrain features we should be trying to look for or something like that. I wouldn't want anyone to give up their honey hole lol. |

Get on by asylum bay in Oshkosh and head out to garlic island (island park). SE of garlic island is a reef that walleyes tend to hang on, bring clown colored jigging rapalas in various sizes, and minnows. Sometimes if they aren't biting tipping the jigging rap with a minnow head is enough to get them into a frenzy. Check the ice conditions before driving out, there's a bait shop by where I'm telling you to go, Fish Tales on County Rd. A in Oshkosh.....stop in, they have a very good selection of live bait and custom painted lures. The staff is very knowledgeable and will let you know of the current ice conditions. And if you see a red dodge ram with a bfl sticker parked next to a blue clam flip shack, pop over and say hi. |

Just an update on the ice conditions: Was out today, won't be taking my vehicle back out on Winnebago for the rest of the season. Ice is at about 15", lots of cracks and honeycomb in the ice, seems very soft where I was drilling. Also a few inches of water on top of ice. I think I'll be sitting out for BoB this year, if any of you plan on venturing out stay safe and stay dry. |

Saw some coverage on the news this AM. Looks like most folks are using ATVs and leaving the autos on the shore. A few cars are venturing out but not many. There were plenty of vehicles on Buttes des morts. We only got one fish unfortunately but we had fun! |
