While walking my 99 yr old Father in law out of the Drs. today my wife was a handed a sheet of paper.  The nurse said all patients were getting the sheet.  It said All patients re-newing or getting a new prescription for a controlled substance will be required to take random drug testing.  This is to verify the person is not abusing the drug and is taking the correct amount as prescribed.  It then went on to tell a person how to take the drug and what not to do.  I wonder who pays for this drug test?
Anybody hear of this?
Is this obama care?

Guessing that is from the network he is in? Wife was told by PCP that he won't take over her pain meds from specialist(double size copay, thanks barry) due to other regs including CCAP check. Asked wife if she offfered to instruct him on how to do that as she uses it practiacally daily. As to who pays, didn't the rates all just go up?

If there are pain meds involved, they are also looking for that drug is in your system. Opioids are going for $1.00 per milligram on the streets and has become a very lucrative business.

Heroin has become the drug of choice for many because it is cheaper than pills and weed right now.

To answer your question, we all are paying for the test through higher insurance rates.
