| Got quoted $100 from a place on 124th. To steep for me, any other places? |

Stopped by Wisconsin Tactical today.
They quoted me at $100 for engraving They also don't seem to understanding the engraving requirements. I'm fairly certain that the engraving needs to be larger then 1/16" in height which is pretty small. They showed me an example of their engraving which was large and took up the width of the side of the magwell. They claimed that was the minimum size. Apparently the front of the magwell is a no go because the engraving won't fit. It's a shame it's so difficult to find someone in SE WI. Last time around I mailed a lower to Indent. They did very nice work, just took several weeks. |

Quoted: looks like I'll be using Ident. Check out Gray Laser, they have a lot of happy customers on Arfcom. I had them do a lower last year and had the lower back a week after I shipped it. Ident does good work too but expect to wait a bit longer. ETA - Bah, get it to Larry (Leotrainer1). I didn't know he does engraving too... |

I wouldn't use Ident, there's tons of threads about how backed up they are. You might wind up waiting months. Nothing is wrong with Ident, they're just very very busy.
I used Larry/Shooting systems for my Sterling SBR and he did a great job tucking it into the awkward space on the bottom of the receiver tube between the grip, and the rear spring cap/stock latch. And however he clamped it down into his rig, he still left the Brit. black crinkle paint unscathed. I'd use Larry, or Flame if he's gotten his setup going. |
