Not a bad show all in all. Contrary to popular belief there are good deals at the shows if you look hard enough...and as usual I went home with more than I should have because reasonable men sometimes do unreasonable things . Nice meeting you op and that killdozer DooD too... |

OK. Being a fellow who has an interest in the military iron for hunting, it's always nice to find a very well sportered 1917 Enfield. This particular one I found was mfg. by Winchester and while it isn't drilled for a scope it does have a Williams peep and I do believe a Fajen stock. I'll post pics tomorrow. The stainless Essex 1911 frame with the unknown maker buffed chrome slide with a new barrel and bushing at 375 in my eyes is a good deal and finally the Tula 1943 PU sniper with the genuine PU mount and scope (not the AIM Molot authentic version@ 550) was a good find...I do admit at 650 I may have slightly overpaid...hence my unreasonable deed for the day...however, it was also a good deal to meet a few fellow HTF posters and BS a bit. eta The Enfield was 150 " />

| A couple years ago I bought a S&W M41 in perfect shape with the box and all paper work for $350. And that was on Saturday afternoon! I can't believe it sat there all that time and no one else bought it. Another dealer could have bought it and put it back on their table to $500 and I still would have bought it. |

I agree, there are deals if you know your stuff and know what you're looking for. You don't find one every time you go.... I've found 4 that I couldn't resist in the last 6-7 years of attending 3-4 shows yearly.
LNIB Marlin 1895G, .45-70 Guide Gun with ported barrel (not a late model Remington), Williams peep, brand new leather sling, $375. 2nd gen G19 with adjustable rear sight, two 15rnd mags & one 10, Tupperware & book, excellent condition (little bit of holster wear on corners of slide) ... $325. Mechanically perfect but cosmetically messed up (put away wet ) Remington 1100, 3" magnum 12ga, which became a refinish w/ dura-coat project... $200.
Beretta ES100 Pintail 12ga, camo stocks, 26" barrel, appeared never fired judging by complete lack of any wear on moving parts of the Benelli inertia action. (Beretta ES100 is basically the same gun as a Benelli 121, the 3" forerunner to the 3.5" Super Black Eagle).... $375. |
