I would like to join and donate to an active pro-2A organization that's locally focused.

Is anyone here a member of either Wisconsin Gun Owners, or Wisconsin Carry, Inc. that can shed some light on these organizations?

If you do a search on here in the archives for WGO and Corey Graff and you google them, I am confident that you will not wish to join them.  Wisconsin Carry Inc is active in promoting firearms carry  rights in WI instead of just padding their pockets..

Yep. WGO is just a shell org, to make Corey Graff a salary. No legal action, no legislation, no lobbying, all he does is put out the newsletter and website. And then ran ads back in '06 against Dave Zein, the most pro-gun legislator in WI at the time for some inexplicable reason.

WCI has actively been in lawsuits related to carry lately, and has been winning.

Been a member of WCI for a number of years.

I think they are your best bet for a active pro-2A organization that's locally focused,

They also do a bunch of free classes for people to get their CCW license.

Nik from WCI also does a weekly radio show on sunday nights.

Look like WCI will be it. I figured something was of with WGO when I saw their site hasn't really been updated since 2013.

I think now more than ever we should be focusing on state firearms legislation, since the anti-gun forces have done the same, and frankly, I'm a little put off by the way the NRA has been caught flat-footed, and their lack of response regarding Washington.

????  The NRA has been doing what the NRA does..  Fear mongering and getting rich off it.   It is not up to "The NRA" to save our country, it is up to the voters.  "The NRA" does not elect idiots to the White House and to the Senate and House, American Voters do.  The NRA endorsed candidates are those who serve the interests of the NRA but not necessarily the best candidates to protect our Liberty.   The NRA is a necessary evil right now, but they are not the means to the end.

I'm an outsider, but take it from me. WGO is cut from the same cloth as Iowa Gun Owners (IGO). They're all National Association of Gun Rights clones. Unfortunately IGO has managed to gain a foothold in Iowa. They recently ran a robo-call campaign against an NRA A rated candidate. They attach poison pills to pro-gun legislation so they can turn around fund raise claiming that all Iowa legislators are anti-gun. And what's worse, their leader is implicated in a legal battle after he helped facilitate an illegal deal between a state legislator and the Ron Paul campaign in 2012.

I'm not trying to promote in fighting within the 2A crowd, but IGO, WGO, and NAGR do more harm to our cause than good. They talk tough and post a lot of slick looking meme's on Facebook, but they're not interested in promoting good gun laws, they exist to raise money and feed off gun owners misplaced frustrations. Take it from someone who's living with this problem in Iowa, you want nothing to do with these types.

What I'd really like to know is if these are nominally pro-RKBA guys who just like the scam/money a little more than RKBA, or if they're intentional shills intentionally siphoning people and money away from legitimate RKBA .org's.

Pretty much the first one I think-nominally RKBA, send a few letters to representatives, and call it lobbying. Send out pleas for money with drastic headlines.
