Heading up tomorrow for an overnighter at the VA. I love cheese curds and burgers. I was born in Milwaukee and have high standards (for burgers, literally nothing else )
I don't care about any cuisines. Also if anyone wants to get lunch and bullshit hit me up. |

Fast foodish-culvers. Made from fresh beef, not frozen. Not stored under heat lamps. Culvers and kopps are good, but we've got both down here. So far I'm looking at that dumplingdowry joint as primary and eagle crest as backup (or maybe lunch next day before return )

The Blue Moon Bar and Gill has by far the best burgers in town. It is on University Ave. less than a mile from the VA.

| I have been to just about every burger joint in Madison. A few weeks ago some friends took me to Gray's Tied House, It is right outside of Madison in Verona. By far the best Burgers I have had anywhere near Madison. Cheese curds and onion rings are exceptional also. You can tell these people use good fresh product. Prices are great too. I highly reccommend this place. |

When you go for your VA appointment in February go to The Old Fashioned on Pickney St and get this:
No. 30 The Old Fashioned House Burger-grilled over a live fire and topped with fried onions, Bavaria’s hickory-smoked bacon, aged Cheddar, garlic sauce and a soft-cooked egg on a buttered and toasted roll. you'll thank me later |

I've only eaten burgers one place there and it was at Kopp's as recomended by a friend. It's a sloppy greasy mess of a thing in a takeout restaurant environment but it was great. Wait a minute...Kopp's as in the Kopp's custard places in Milwaukee? Is it the same thing in Madison? If it is, I didn't know they had one in Madison and my trip to the liberal haven in March just started looking a little better. CM |
