I know I should e-mail the manufacturer, but I gotta get the ball rolling on this and figured I'd get a quicker answer here.
I Krylon a lot of my guns. I like using it 'cause I often re-camo with the season and I don't mind wear/flaking. But I have a Striker with all-stainless iron and if I just Krylon it and it wears through - nice shiny stainless steel underneath. I want to put a durable base down, then Krylon over that. Will I have any problems spraying Krylon on a surface that's been Duracoated? Has anybody here done this? |

I think part of the problem is that the surface underneath is shiny, which is a poor substrate for paint to adhere to. 120 grit aluminum oxide blasting would take care of this.
If you're looking for a really tough finish, look into getting cerakote applied. That stuff is supposed to be awesome. |
