Hey Gang: Did not see a posting already about him, but I also did not search back more then 4 days either.
I got this response today via e-mail from him - thought I would pass it along Dear Peter, Thank you for your recent email in opposition to background checks in the sale or transfer of firearms. I agree that we should enforce the laws currently in effect regarding purchase and ownership of firearms. However, I do not believe that strengthening background checks will infringe on a citizen’s Second Amendment Rights. If a law abiding citizen would like to own and use firearms, then they will not have their rights restricted by background checks intended to weed out citizens who have criminal records. At this time, I am the sponsor of legislation to strengthen Wisconsin’s background check law. Universal background checks are supported by 80% of Wisconsin residents, including a vast majority of my constituents. I appreciate your views on this issue, but it is clear that we disagree. Thank you again for your comments. If I can ever be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact me. Most sincerely, FRED A. RISSER State Senator |

i would like to know where he gets that 80% figure from????
did he personally go out and quiz every citizen of wisconsin or is he just quoting crazy uncle joe biden's blitherings???? wonder if he supports women standing out on balconies and vomiting and peeing themselves after launching shotgun blasts skywards.... thats the same folks that put out that 80% crap. im betting he doesnt know or even care that the background check bill doesnt cover background checks but is there solely to record who has and doesnt have guns as a defacto gun registry |

SO he is going to close the car sow loophole too, right? after all , many cars are owned and sold every day to people who can not legally operate them, It only makes sense to have to sell a car through a dealer who can run a background check and make sure the person has a valid license, If it saves just one life keeping some 7time drunk driver off the road , it is worth it. |

That's much more true than most people think. I personally know someone who has been cited for driving while license suspended or revoked 17 times since 1995, including 3 DUIs. He's had a valid license for about 4 months since 1995, yet he has owned - legally titled & registered in his name - at least 5 vehicles in that time (owns one currently that has valid plates & title in his name). He's been ticketed for driving 90mph in a 55mph zone, while on a 2 year revocation, in his own car. WTF?????? If anyone has any doubts, I'll send his name & DOB via IM, and you can look him up on CCAPS. I've got an 8 yr old grandson, and this POS asshole is his father. |

Quoted: So basically it is like you can own the gun, but as long as you don't shoot it, it is legal.Quoted: SO he is going to close the car sow loophole too, right? after all , many cars are owned and sold every day to people who can not legally operate them, It only makes sense to have to sell a car through a dealer who can run a background check and make sure the person has a valid license, If it saves just one life keeping some 7time drunk driver off the road , it is worth it.
