Just saw the commercial for the new Simcity a few days ago. Looks awesome so I preordered for the March 5th release.

I have been a huge fan since the very first one. This one looks better than ever.

I have not played since Sim City 2K (i.e. before EA bought out Maxis), but many happy hours of my childhood were spent playing Sim City

Used to play Simcity 3K. Playing around with the Simcity Social on FB. It sucks. Slow as hell. After reading up on the new Simcity being server based, I'll pass especially with EA's reputation to shutting down servers within 2 yrs of release.

I started on some versio wit windows 3.1 then stopped at around ms98 haven't played it in years, maybe if is osx compatable ill pick it up

Wow! I forgot the new one is coming out. I've been playing since Simcity on the Super Nintendo... loved most of them. Been looking forward to this release... but concerned its going to take up my life. Ive quit WoW for some time now... but this looks like another one that can be time consuming due to the online aspect.

If you guys dont see me on here at all after the 5th... you know why.

Love these types of simulation games, but had way more time for them back in my college days. Still waiting for someone to make a 'Liberal' mod...in that one you build nothing but parks, trains, low income housing, extensive regulations and of course max out the taxes and watch your city prosper.

I still own both but could never figure out SimIsle. I got close to tower status once with SimTower. The wedding chapel started on fire during the ceremony. I was dumb and hadn't saved the game in like 5 hours. I still play once in awhile. I put a virtual XP os on my desktop so I could still run it.

I am sure I will end up with the new sim city at some point, just not sure when. College keeps me away from new games until they are cheaper.

Simcity after EA bought the franchise has sucked. I always try them and get disappointed. The new game looks amazing, but I loathe EA and their practices. So I will not be buying it. It will be on sale 50% off next week anyways, cause EA always puts its games on sale. The fact you cant play it offline also makes it a loser.

Yes to Simtower, had Simisle but never really played it.

But have you played SimAnt, or SimFarm? SimFarm was ok. SimAnt on the other hand was great. There was something satisfying about running your ants into the wall outlet. lol

Don't forget SimCopter and Streets of Sim City, you could import cities you made in Sim City 2000 and play around in them, super cool at the time.

There's a lot of backlash out there against this new one for it's "always online" play style. You literally cannot play the game without an internet connection, there is no "single player" mode any longer.
