A Milwaukee County Sheriff has warned that a second American Revolution may be sparked if unconstitutional gun laws are enforced by police and sheriff’s department officials.

“First of all, to me that would be an act of tyranny. So the people in Milwaukee County do not have to worry about me enforcing some sort of order that goes out and collects everybody’s handgun, or rifles, or any kind of firearm and makes them turn them in.” Clarke said.

“The reason is I don’t want to get shot, because I believe that if somebody tried to enforce something of that magnitude, you would see the second coming of an American Revolution, the likes of which would make the first revolution pale by comparison.” the Sheriff urged.

“This has nothing to do with violence reduction because the type of violence that we’re talking about, that I see on the streets in the Milwaukee area on a daily basis is not even committed using the weapons that the left is trying to ban.” Clarke told Jones’ listeners.

“They are not using assault rifles, they are not using high capacity magazines, they are not buying their ammo over the internet. The criminals couldn’t care less about a background check, so that tells me that this is ingenuous.” he added.

“Read the Declaration of Independence, it’s right there where a law abiding people say ‘enough is enough, you are exerting too much influence in our lives, this is tyrannical and we’re going to stop it,’ that’s what they are worried about.” he concluded.

From his interview with conspiracy nut Alex Jones. AJ aside, I'm impressed with Clarke's statements. Surprising for a Milwaukee (D)

This guy obviously plans to run for higher office on the Right.  Politics or not, he said the above out loud and on the record so in the future we can at least hold him to account on this issue.

It's good to hear someone in law enforcement saying these things.

High lighted in red.  He is right, as the day is long.  More people are killed with hammers during the course of a given year, than an "assault" rifle.  I think he meant to say disingenous too, not ingenuous.  There is nothing innocent about what they are doing.

Good for him. Grandstanding or not, if it gets a rise out of the anti's, I'm all for it.  I'd be curious what his stance is about signing off on NFA?

I don't believe this is true. I talked with him a few years ago and he stated at that time "he would never enter that cesspool they call politics again". He was refering to his failed run for mayor. But things change I think he may retire after this term as sheriff.

As a newby to Wisconsin and unaware of his past efforts, I would say he could easily position himself in the same light as a Colonel West.

Things do change, I don't blame him if he doesn't run for higher office and I am not faulting him if he is positioning himself for a future run.  It just seems in WI he could find a congressional seat to run for, screw Mayor.  I would like nothing better than to see a guy like this go to DC and pistol whip some jackasses he disagrees with, verbally or physically.  We need more of both.  More transparency on our true feelings.

Remember folks, he's a Democrat.  It's icky to vote for politicians with a (D) next to their name.

An (R) in Milwaukee County generally means you're going to loose the election.  Not always, but enough.

Clark is quickly becoming  my favorite politician anywhere.  Grandstanding or not, his words have teeth.

What you might call a Jackson County Democrat.

In a city and county full of socialists, a moderate D is quite conservative by comparison.

Uh-oh... he used the "R" word. Now he's on some fed's watch list.
