Last night when I was trying in vain to find a 10 round mag for my LR-308 I came upon a startling realization: the "High Capacity Machine Gun Magazine Clips" the Libdipshits keep screaming about aren't anything of the sort. They're just standard magazines. The standard mag for an AR-15 or and AK-47 holds 30 rounds. The standard magazine for an AR-10 holds 20 rounds. The standard mag for most 9mm handguns holds 16 or 17 rounds. And in fact it its usually somewhat of a hassle to find mags that don't hold the standard capacity. I found a couple places that had 20 round LR-308 mags in stock, all 10 and 4 round mags were on backorder. Hell - Magpul doesn't even make a 10 round Pmag. How can that be "standard" when the most popular manufacturer only makes "high capacity" 20 round mags? I've always referred to "standard capacity" mags as plain old mags, but I never really thought about what a complete lie the term "high capacity" really is. It's like a 4 wheeled car or alcoholic whiskey.
Yeah - I know they have the mass mind-rape media on their side ( they do this with everything: Climate Change, Universal Healthcare, Immigration Reform, etc., etc.), but the next time I hear some idiot yammering about how we have to do something about these horrible evil HIGH CAPACITY CLIPS I'm gonna kick his teeth down his throat with my high-capacity foot. ...and I really wish Magpul did make 10 round 7.62 Pmags. I really don't need a high-capacity 20 round mag for that gun. Maybe if some of this reasonable gun control gets passed Magpul will start making 10 round mags. |
| I would stop calling them high capacity right now and switch to the term i have been using for awhile now and call them normal capacity. the liptards change the names for things all the time so can we. assault weapons are sporting rifes and the mags they take are normal capacity. |

I just call them standard capacity magazines. I just call them magazines. I don't think I've ever heard anybody I shoot with call a mag anything but a mag. This whole media gun "discussion" thing is by far the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in that one side (anti-gun lib unicorn jockeys) is completely pulling "information" out of their ass. I can't remember how many not necessarily anti-gun but non-shooters I've had to explain that you can't just walk into Walmart and buy a machine gun. I mean - that's what they heard on CNN. Lefties usually are pretty good at propeganda and outright lying, but this gun stuff just blows my mind. |

Whenever the discussion comes up about AR15s / AK47s and someone says those words - "high capacity" - I ask them if they know how much a "high capacity" magazine costs? I then give the price, and description, of the 100 rnd beta-mag, or the 75rnd AK drum. They'll say "No, no, I meant those 30 round ones". That's when I inform them that that's the "normal" capacity for those rifles, it's what they were designed to accept, there's nothing "high" about it, and anything less is a "low capacity homophobe" magazine.
I had this discussion last week with a libtard I know, who owns a classic Corvette. I said having a 10 round mag in my AR15 would be like him removing the 396 V-8 from his Vette and installing a 4 cyl Corvair engine, because some insane person with a "high capacity powered Corvette" drove through a schoolyard full of kids at 120mph. It must've been the fault of the V8, not the insane driver, and V8s need to be banned, as "Nobody needs a Nascar style engine on the streets of the U.S."

Doesn't matter, the union libtards here think anything other than their Remington bolt action 243 is overkill, and can shoot through schools, fire 800000000 times without reloading, and take out satelites in low earth orbit. And you can't convince them otherwise. |

Not so funny thing is, until pretty recently the worst mass shooting in the US was carried out by a guy who primarily used a Remington 700 (bolt action 5-shot repeater) and shot people from hundreds and hundreds of yards away. |

I don't know. the Left's preoccupation with the Orwellian control of the language needs to be fought.
While it looks as if we're winning for the most part, I see no harm in fighting back on this front too. Referring to it as "They want to ban our standard capacity magazines" which is more true than calling them high-capacity since in the case of things like Glocks, AR's etc. they were always made with more than 10 rounds as "standard" calling them "high" is much more arbitrary. if it will do any good can't hurt if it convinces a friend, or makes someone think. |

Does anyone else think that banning "modern sporting rifles" and "standard capacity magazines" is redundancy? Playing devil's advocate, why not just go for the magazine ban? Although the 10 round limit would also apply to pistols, wouldn't a 10 round magazine limit on ARs & AKs (and the like) also limit the supposedly *"deadly military-style killing machine" rifles' ability to * "kill as many people as quickly as possible"?
I noticed that rifles like the Hi-Point carbines are on "the list". WTF? Largest magazine available for the 9mm is 15 (10 is standard), largest available for the .45acp is 9 (I looked... I would've bought the .45 version when it came out a few years back, if I could've gotten mags bigger than 9 rounds, but there aren't any). * = libtard media hyperbole |

Capacity does not equal lethality - takes one second to change a mag or go to a New York reload (another gun).
Rfb you sort of answered your own question - they don't care about an arbitrary capacity limit, they care about banning any sort of effective arm, period. That's why they want to ban Hi Points - cheap and still effective as seen (tragically) at Columbine (under AWB1 no less). |

And the gun-banners are also answering another question.... the new AWB they want is just a guise to outlaw as many gun types as they can.... until they get them all. The reasons they want to ban "modern sporting rifles" is the claims they make that I put the asterisks by in my previous post (don't want to repeat them again ).
Those "excuses" to ban them would be a mute point if all those guns they want banned were instead limited to 10 rounds. Those "excuses" given are just a ruse to grab what they can, when they can. |
