I had an NFA mfr buddy in PA try to convert the welded butt stock into a folder. The gun was made by a co in OH I believe? Anyway the internal springs were missing and the weld had to be cut making the existing butt stock unusable. He bought a kit from APEX I believe, and had it installed? Due to the damage caused by the weld and removing it, he could not get the butt stock to stay in place in the open configuration while firing.
He then had to remove the whole rear end (the piece with the two tongues that connect the stock to the receiver) and replace it with the whole new rear stock of the parts kit. He is a paranoid recluse, so unless you go to PA, you probably won't have much luck with him. But at least someone here would not have to go through the unnecessary ass pain he went through by going with the technique mentioned above. Hope this helps V OUT |
