And so it begins in Wisconsin as well, I just glad we (republicans) are in control.

"Also Tuesday, three Milwaukee Democrats - Rep. Fred Kessler and Representative-elects Evan Goyke and Mandela Barnes - said at a news conference at Milwaukee City Hall they would introduce legislation that would:

Ban high-velocity, maximum-damage bullets that are also sometimes called hollow-point bullets.

Ban assault rifles. Under the proposal, it would be illegal to possess, distribute, import, transport, offer for sale, transfer or give away assault weapons. People could keep assault weapons purchased before the proposal took effect, but would have to register them.

Require those seeking permits to carry concealed guns to undergo psychological evaluations. Goyke suggested that since prospective concealed-carry permit holders have to take a training class, the class might include an exam by a psychologist or psychiatrist."

Never let a headline or a tragedy go to waste. I think there should be a "pyschological evaluation" required before you can hold an elected office, so these wackos stop wasting the taxpayers money on this nonsense. The Repubs control the Assembly, Senate, and Governorship, so there's not a prayer of this passing. These asses are just grandstanding!

How about having IQ tests for politicians with a minimum standard needed to run for and hold office?

... or food stamps, etc. etc. etc.

Whey they have to get a drug test to get a free fucking Obama phone, I'll get a pyschological evaluation for a permit.

Or get a fucking job.

F-bombs all around tonight, oh am I getting pissed off!

I hear ya about the pissed off part. I'm sick of the assholes in politics, and the assholes in the media, who pretend they know what the fuck they're talking about when it comes to firearms, current firearms laws,  and/or ammunition. Like always, I've seen every misleading and factually incorrect anti-gun cliche a hundred fucking times on TV the last few days. At first I laughed at the idiots... but I realized with conversations the last two days with non-gun people I know, who honestly do not have a clue about "gun stuff", who see this crapola on the TV and believe it's true!!!

Just like if you lie in court you can be charged with perjury... any asswipe in the media, or who holds a political office, and who makes false statements in public should be punished likewise. Before they open their mouths, they've got a moral obligation to check their facts. If they don't abide by the moral one, I say they should have a legal one too. If they don't abide by the law, they lose the job & get fined.

And BTW... if you're blood pressure isn't high enough already, have you heard about the Dem politicion in Texas who tweeted that he thinks all NRA members deserved to be shot? I'm afraid we're dealing with some sick mo-fo's here.

edit to add: I think I'm gonna bitch-slap the next a-hole that mentions "hunting" and the RKBA, and says "you can't hunt with that AR". My reply is "um... I haven't hunted with it since ...YESTERDAY!!!"

I then explain how it's the favorite rifle of coyote hunters.

Wow, that was good for a laugh. It's sad and pathetic that they're actually serious.

Repubs in WI better not give them an inch. NOT ONE INCH. In fact, they need to pass some legislation easing regulations (like allowing CCW in schools).

I'm assuming by "assault weapons" they mean anything that "looks scary"?

Because actual, select-fire or full-auto assault weapons are already illegal without special dispensation from the Feds.

These measures will only harm law abiding citizens. What criminal is going to follow those proposed laws? What madman is going to care what tool he uses? He only cares about maximum damage, and if that means using something else they'll do it...
