Was watching an old movie I own on VHS that I haven't seen in years ("beyond the law" 1993 , charlie sheen, if you must know) and it came to me.....
There can't be this many crazy gun nuts that actually get together fairly regularly to do stuff without a fed.... It's just against the rules , which got me thinking. WHO is the fed? Prebans encyclopedic knowledge of everything ATF , looks suspicious? GlennR ? What better cover for a fed than a cop? Parrot keeps inviting us to his place, is the Shawano gun club an ATF front? That unique guy is pretty shady.... In good fun.... Who do YOU think the fed is? |

Rather than end with a bad joke, let me insert my favorite LE joke here: The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the FBI, and the CIA are all trying to prove that they are the best at apprehending criminals. The President decides to give them a test. He releases a rabbit into a forest and each of them has to catch it.
The CIA goes in. They place animal informants throughout the forest. They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of extensive investigations they conclude that rabbits do not exist. The FBI goes in. Hmmmm..... lots of fingers pointing towards the fat cook. I'm not really that fat, it's all the sound equipment they make me wear, and all the cameras. They say the camera adds 20 pounds. Just happen to have a dozens cameras pointed at me at all times.
By the way, I'll be having you all over for the next cookout, feel free to bring any un-papered class 3 stuff you might have. We're going to have a swap meet!!

Others are assigned to monitor things. There are at least a handful, possibly more, on this board- and that number is low if we're counting just normal users who happen to work for 3-5 letter agencies but like guns. And yes, people on this board have gotten in trouble for posting stupid things in the past. GunBroker? It's watched. Ask me how I know- I'll be happy to personally show you the certified letter I got from ATF back in 2002 about something I bought on GunBroker back in 1999. And I'll be happy to describe the accompanying federal investigation into my and my nine dollar "machine gun" going between the Chicago, Milwaukee, and Phoenix field offices. YouTube? It's watched. A friend got stuck in an investigation because of a video he posted of himself shooting something that looked illegal (but was properly papered and owned in accordance with all laws). In the end, it was used as part of a larger fishing expedition that cost him his job as a Sheriff's Deputy, got him tossed in jail (no job = no bail money), in solitary (he was in danger if put into the general jail population because of his prior work), and loss of 2A rights for 2 years while on probation plus fines and ongoing litigation to get his lawfully owned arms returned from the feds. (Yeah, all of that for PROBATION.) The Internet isn't private. We're monitored by feds, probably by state/local (remember that guy who came on about our HTF shoot and permits?) LE, and by WAVE. Lesson- OPSEC isn't just a cute acronym for the high speed - low drag crowd. And for the record, FFLs can't work for the feds. In fact, you specifically have to surrender any FFL and SOTs you have before accepting a position with the ATF. So no, I'm not a fed.

While Dave_A claimed to be a WI native, last we knew when he was shown the door is that he was in WA somewhere. I keep sayin' he should stay there, I don't want him back in our state. I'm convinced he would sell out his mother if he thought it would make him feel morally superior. Good riddens to bad rubbish.
I'm still waiting for the government to contact me for mole operations here. I'm still unemployed, and work is work, right? Right guys? Guys? Oh, and I do not recognize the authority of a courtroom with gold fringe on the American flag. Gold fringe implies an admiralty jurisdiction, and I cannot be court martialled twice. I do not need a license since I'm not driving, I'm travelling under constitutional protection in my personal conveyance. Licenses and permits denote that business is being conducted, and I am not a corporation, nor am I conducting business. Am I being detained? Am I free to go? Am I being detained? Am I free to go?
