Anybody done it lately? Who did you go with and what was your experience?

| I did through Port Washignton State Bank (already had my loan through them, and got a letter from my mortgage officer about the possibility of a refinance and lower rate working out for me), in October of last year. Doesn't save me a ton of money in the long run, as I rolled closing costs in and did another 30 year, but it freed up cash flow which I really needed (had I known I was about to be unemployed at the time, it would have been an even better choice). I would have been able to do a 15 year at the same monthly payment as what I had, but was able to drop the payment amount by about 20%, so I've been happy with the choice. |
