Right now I have brats soaking in beer and onions from Roberts in Waukesha, some Dang! I picked up yesterday from MI, and some Point beer chilling in the fridge.  We're combining my wife's folks and my dad and stepmom into one gathering.  Mother in law is making her fresh egg rolls (pork rolls and veggie rolls), punceit, and I'm not certain what else (she cooks way too much every time).  My dad and stepmom are in charge of beverages, my brother is bringing more brats and I'm not certain what else, and my wife's sister is brining more I-have-no-idea.  It will either be an awesome cookout, or we'll have all sorts of meat and nothing else

What's on the schedule for you folks?

The wife bought me a fire ring for the yard and some pudgy pie irons for daddy's day, so we will be using them to make supper.
Pizza filled gooey goodness, hot off the fire!

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there.

I did my cooking yesterday, for my dad's 80th bday (surprise) party.

I cooked up chickens, brats, burgers, hot dogs and tri-tips for 25 people.  LOTS of leftovers, so no need to do it all again today.

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there!!!

Thought I smelled that!

We made corn on the cob last night on the grill.  Hash browns, eggs, sausage this morning.  Beer soaked brats with the few Dang bottles I've got left for 2ish.

Working on either smoking a Whole Pork Loin or cutting it into chops and just smoking half. Currently I'm on the fence of what to do but , Have to get of the fence because dinner is at 6 P.M

Will be served with Tin Foil Potatoes with onions and mushrooms , And Sour Cream Cucumbers.

It was listed for 1.99 but I believe it was really only 1.49 when it was rung up!

The Whole Loin

I trimmed it up and cut the one side into 16 chops.

And I injected the loin with Apple juice with BGE Maple Seasoning Now to head outside and get the kettle ready.

I sold my Weber Genesis gas grill for $25 after I hadn't used it in over 5 years.

If I want to cook on gas I'll use the range in the kitchen!

So while the grills were coming up to temp, I cut Yukon Golds , Onions and then dumped 1 # Mushrooms and 2 sticks of butter and a 1/2 can of Natural Ice and dusted with Lawry's . And I had THIS!.

Grilled indirect for about 30 minutes then switched to direct for 30 and then I pulled the foil off for the last 15-20 minutes to Brown them up and ended with this!

I cooked the pork loin to 145 and pulled it and foiled it and watched it come up to 160 degrees. I was amazed how it kept cooking even though it was off the grill!

(NOTE THE NEW MAVERICK REMOTE THERMOMETER WORKS SLICKER THAN A WHISTLE) Set it for 145 and at 145 while surfing the puter it when off..

And last but not least a Plated Picture of dinner.

We bought my dad a new grill and christened it with NY Strip steak, chicken, and vegetable kabobs.  Great things were turned out on it today.

I forgot to take a picture of the brats and pork chops (too busy eating), or grandma's strawberry pies, but did grab photos of the egg rolls and panceit.

Sounds nice.

I cooked myself just some bacon (no eggs in the house) and made pancakes on the request of the 4-yr-old daughter for breakfast.  For supper the wife brought me home a Whopper meal from Burger King....She ate the fries, however.

Sometimes I lead a pretty pathetic existance.

Looking over Parrutheads post, I really miss potatoes. It looked great! But not being able to eat taters, Jim you were better off your wife eating your fries. You'll live longer!!

If you are dying for some fries try sweet potato fries, really healthy and will help with the tater cravings.

My wife and I will slice them up, and grill with some teriyaki, ginger, and sesame oil wrapped in foil (also good roasted on a pan in the oven as well).
