Well time to put stuff away for winter.  4400lb of wood pellets for the pellet stove came today.  I have to get half of that in the bunker today.
I saw a BFL yesterday.  It was red on a black car by door 30  in Waukesha

Do you get a pretty good discount on buying that much? Will that last the winter?

This will last me through a normal winter.  Last winter I had almost a pallet left over.  I have been buying pellets from the same guy for about 6yrs now and the price is usually good.  I did not compare this year but have every year in the past and he was always good price wise.  I had them delivered this year.  That was kind of pricey I thought but it is nice having them put where you want them instead of trying to muscle the pallets on grass with out the right tools.  I will have to move 2200lb by hand in to the bunker though.  I already have one pallet put away in the garage.  The hard part starts now.  My back will be feeling it latter today and tomorrow

What kind (brand) of pellet stove do you have? Stove or insert?

Where is it located and how much area do you heat?

We're thinking about getting an insert to supplement our propane furnace. Insert will be on the main floor and house is about 2300sq/ft.

Our House is about the same size as yours the stove is a free standing stove in the family room down stairs.  It dose ok in October and November when it starts getting chilly out.   It was installed when we bought the house.  I would have put it upstairs in the living room if I had installed it.  In the first part of  fall and early winter a 40lb bag will last 2+ days in full winter I go through a bag a day.  The big thing is that it keeps the floors warm so it has to help with the heating of the rest of the house just from that.  Final tally I moved 85 40lb bags to day.
