So the family and I and some friends went to see the Bucks game this evening (Sat night). THey had translucent window stickers on each door with white lettering posted higher than the average person's eye level stating the no weapons policy. My wife did not notice the signs. Once you walk through the first set of doors there are staff members with hand-held wands scanning everyone from head to toe as they enter. After that, they have the standard "open your purse and I will pretend to glance through it" checkpoint. Well, a friend of mine happened to "forget" he had his LCP in the right front pocket. When we are standing in line waiting to be "scanned", I notice a lot of wands were going off. It appeared to be due to pocket contents- I'm guessing keys, coins, etc. The security staff does nothing about this and keeps passing people through. I did not see one person be asked to empty pockets, receive a pat down, or any further scrutiny. My entire party, LCP and all, got scanned and sailed right through.
I dont' know if my friend will "forget" his LCP in his pants pocket next time or if he'll decide not to risk it. I sure feel safer with the high level of security at the Bradley Center.

Had the same experience last time we went to an Admirals game. The parking garages are marked on the stairwells and such as no weapons allowed, but nothing as you enter with your car to park, so not sure how much weight they carry knowing that the law calls out parking as exempt. |
