I believe that I will be commiting myself to actually going to this shoot. Actual planning and a commitment assuming I'm not in the hospital. I am probably going to be bringing a full set of pistol only poppers and maybe something reactive to shoot at. I am unsure if I will be there both dyas yet, but I am thinking that I will be.

That said. I own a business as you all know. So I will ask a question, which I may regret, but I will ask.

I would like to donate something to raffle off for this event. I have offered transfers and Duracoat with and option for other services. None seem to have gone over that well, because nobody has redeemed anything and some have expired and others will expire soon. Transfers seem like something that doesn't do well since most people that go to these life to far away to benefit from them.  I was thinking of something more tangible. Something that the winner would get right away, and not have to screw around with redeeming.

So I will ask this. What would your guys like to have as a prize, be it for a raffle or competittion? I would like to hear what you guys/gals want.  Keep in mind I will not be buying an M60 or 50 cal rifle. I like you people, just not that much.

STOP MENTIONING PRIZES!!!!It will make more people want to come, and take away from the rest of us. It has been a blast the last two years and hate to see it get ruined due to too many people! Outgrowing our venue is a very real possibility.

I agree. Just show up. Maybe if you're feeling saucy donate some ammo for the shoot.

Something everyone can use, and you might just have some lying around.

Sponsor a fun shooting competition? Flamthrowers Fantastic Fun 100m Paperplate Pistolpalooza.

1min, 10 shots, 1 paperplate, Most holes (in the plate) win. All pistols, all comers. Could do 10 people at a time so it would go quick.

Something like this is in the works

As a business owner who donated to last years shoot, I also noticed that the free transfers got little to no response. Now, I have been told a a few people that they appreciated the gift and intended to use it, but it just doesn't always work out. Not that I minded doing it, but I like to see people actually get some use out of the items they win. The lower that I donated to complete the grand prize went over well (I think anyway). I think there's something to be said for a tangible gift.

Take it at face value, but since you do a lot of Duracoat work, maybe donating a camo kit would be of more use to a potential winner.

I'm close enough to finalizing details, I'll let the cat out:

This year I'm putting together two competitions. One, best poker hand, which will involve shooting at a 52 card deck, the best poker hand wins a Giessele SSA trigger. Second, fastest mag dump. I'm going to put together a rifle around the Giessele SD-3G trigger. Shooters speed will be measured and highest RPM will also win an SSA trigger. Exact details are still being ironed out, but the concept will remain.

Sorry, not trying to hijack your thread, just trying to share examples.

Not a problem, and not a hijack at all. No worries. I have a nice timer for the mag dump if needed.

I like the idea of a sponsered event. I will have to think os per round prizes and/or main prize for first place.

I predict OsirisX wins the fastest mag dump. He was hammering away pretty quickly at Frozen Nuts.

I predict I am runner up because wasting ammo is something I am good at

Damn right it did...  And, I still have the card for a free transfer, too... which I already have earmarked for use on a planned purchase in the near future.

Todd,

I know you, and appreciate the hard work you are capable of doing.

I would think if you put your mind to it, you could hand build an AR15 lower.

Get a chunk of aluminum, and go to it!

Yep, I got faith brother. Get to it, and maybe even raffle it off.

I'd go with the ammo idea IMHO - something everyone at the event will be will to take advantage of.

Why not a Flavor of the day gift cert. So buy can get what he wants/needs or up to (FILL IN AMOUNT EITHER DOLLAR VALUE OR ROUNDS )

I think you'd be pretty safe with 5.56

5.56, Subsonic 9mm, maybe a precision .223 or .308 for a best group at 300 yards competition?

I just thought of something really cool. Silver bullets.

There are 480 grains in each troy ounce. You could load 10 .223 loads and still figure in some waste with one oz of silver. It would be cool and unique and wouldn't cost too much. Flamethrowers limited edition Vampire Slayers.

ETA I'll supply the ounce of silver gratis provided I get one.
