I received the DOJ's package on the proposed permanent rules for CCW.

I have quickly scanned the 31 pages.  I didn't see anything seriously different in the permanent rules.

One area that might need careful scrutiny is the section on reciprocity.  Maybe nothing but I can't tell yet.

They are wanting classes to be no more than 50 students per instructor.  I think that's fair and reasonable.

I disagree on the class size being restricted, why should they restrict the size of the class?

I agree, with no live fire component or testing requirement I see no reason to limit class size.  All that is required is for the class to be a lecture format, and I don't see why the need to limit the number.  The market will decide how big is too big for classes.  If a person is uncomfortable in a large setting, they are free to find a smaller class.

When part of the temp rules were suspended on 11/08/11, one of the requirements lifted was instructor's signature on training certs. That has been reinstated in the permanent rules... no big deal AFAIK. The 4 hr class minimum was NOT put back in the permanent rules.

The temp rules from in the fall required more than the instructors signature. It required all kinds of info from the instructor. That's the stuff that does NOT need to be in there. An instructors signature on the certificate is fine.
