Lots of big fish today. Anyone from the area know about the docks and shacks at the viewing area marked
Private Property"?? Does someone own that land?? |

We were there at about 2PM yesterday and there were very few fish. Funny how a day can change things.
My Dad asked about those shacks and docks. They are private property. My gut is telling me that the portion of the shoreline was either owned or squatted on with a seasonal walleye shack by some local folks. Speculating now... due to this use over the course of time it was grandfathered in when the rip rap/rocks were dumped as part of the habitat improvement project. I can not remember the history of that project well enough. If I run into one of the Winnebago Chain Fish Ecology folks, I will ask that question. Just guessing that there was a contingency added to allow them access of some sort, or they donated that bend. Wish they had a brat stand in one of those shacks, yesterday they could have sold 1000 brats easy. |

I wondered the same thing myself. but most of those rafts can be parked anywhere as long as they are not tied to the land they sit in front of. my next explanation could be totally wrong but do the walleye and Sturgeon school together because people always seem to jig for walleye right where the Sturgeon spawn seems stupid because you can also hook into a fish you don't want to catch while doing this but the idiots still do it.
By the way the Sturgeon are done spawning there are some late ones but in New London they are done. |
