I just ran into a couple of cases of FN 5.7 ammo and want to sell it.

How do I ship it and what does it cost?

I know it is a NO-NO with USPS.

UPS, FEDEX, Spee-Dee, DHS, etc.

Common carrier. Expect UPS to give you some shit. Must be marked ORM-D as well, IIRC.

I guess I am asking for best experiences and costs...

My inability to state myself correctly.

haven't done it lately around here. I think UPS does make you go to a hub though... no kiosk\retail locations. Only time I ever did was UPS. They would not let me do it without a "federal license". I showed them my C&R, and they let me do it. Sadly, i just try to avoid shipping ammo when possible.

If you're shipping somewhere in the midwest, I'd really recommend Spee-Dee. I have inlaws in ND, and that's what we use. Spee-dee is about half the cost of UPS or Fedex.

I've shipped ORM-D through the Middleton UPS location.

My suggestion is to try posting on Armslist first. I got seven inquiries within about as many hours on my latest posting...

I've only used UPS, twice.  It was a learning experience, to say the least.

You will have to go the a UPS hub, not a retail store front.  If you do go to the storefront, the clerks will most likely be and slowly back away.  You will need to go to the distribution hub.  For the La Crosse hub, there is only a 4 hour window that they will receive packages.  I went in and told the clerk that I'm sending ammo.  They then directed me to a kiosk where I fill out my information and the receiver's information.  A sticker prints out and you affix it to the box.  Pay for the shipping and you are good to go.

Never tried any other carriers, so can't help on that aspect.

I've shipped a bunch of ammo over the years thru UPS... but it was thru a regular business account that had daily pickup (not a UPS store).
For me it was nothing special, same as any other package only I put ORM-D decals on three sides of the box.  Never heard a peep.  If you want
some ORM-D decals, I have a bunch... just IM me your mailing address.

i shipped mine FedEx Express 3 Saver Day (ground). Express is way better than FedEx Ground. I posted you a link to printable labels.

Ground and Express are pretty much 2 different companies.

I drop mine off pre-paid at UPS near the Milwaukee Airport and never get a second look.  Easy as can be, just stick an ORM-D label on it.
