Anyone know of a smith that does PSL builds from parts kits in the Fox Valley area?  I could do it myself but I do not have the press or jigs, and I'm not sure I'd build more than one.  So it doesn't make sense for to buy the stuff to do it.

Thanks,
Ed

I think the jigs are like 300 bucks, but the press is the kicker.

You can get a press from harbor freight for less than $100.

If you are talking a press for pressing in the barrel you can just use a piece of threaded rod.

I'm putting one together myself right now.  I'm waiting to use a headspace gauge at a build party next month but so far all I used was a block of wood, anti-seize, a level, and a hammer.  I'm doing a screw build were I'm tapping the trunnion holes and using grade 8 allen headed bolts.  I don't need to hear about the rivet vs screw built argument.

I got the $300 kit from Centerfire systems and a receiver from tn guns .com.  The receiver does need some different things done to them to work.

If your going to have someone build one for you it will be probably cheaper just to buy one.

Its from the Weapons Guild forum.  I can't invite anyone.  Join up if you like building weapons.  But one thing about the site is that it defiantly is not like GD here its a site for and about building firearms.
