I was walking the dogs just before dinner time and hit a patch of ice.  The arms flying, the legs flapping.   I have no idea why I did not go down, but I stayed up.   Now I am so sore and stiff I can hardly stand up.  I am on my second batch of Motrin and I am thinking about grabbing a couple of Vicodin.   Man do I hurt.

I took a slip running across Forest Home Ave in Milwaukee, no one even stopped.  It was the closest I have been to getting run over.

As your doctor, i prescribe a large tumbler of brown liquor. 3 ice cubes. repeat as needed.

Did that last year, except after all the flapping I came down soft. The landing was nothing but all the straining and stuff took its toll, almost three weeks to feel close to normal I still remember it. Hope you recover quick.

I almost landed on my ass in the parking lot at work. I'm tired of this crap partially melting and then freezing again, it's making a lot of black ice.

Good luck to you man, all that straining always takes it's toll.

Sounds like some slip-on ice cleats are in your future.

I did that a few years ago. I was in pain for 3 weeks. Now I just fall. Screw it. It usually hurts for about a minute, then I'm fine.

One thing I am not is graceful.

If you need a second opinion on this, I agree with Dr. GreenZ treatment plan.

I'm not a doctor but I've stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before (and slipped on ice).

I'm with ya on this one. I find it just amazing how many different ways I can roll.

There was literally only one to be found and it wasn't good quality.  First frame of the YouTube video it looks like.

I had to watch the whole scene.

Get yourself a pair of "Ice Grippies."

I once laughed at the idea, but they make walking a lot easier and safer.

I take the dogs to our county park and wear them often when out on the trails.

Get yourself something like these - but stay away from the "YAK" ones, they suck.

Just fell yesterday for the first time in years.  Put left hand out and took the whole weight on my thumb, then my elbow.  Fortunately the only thing that happened is my thumb turned black and blue and swollen, but it is going down now.  Also, house now has about inch and a half of solid ice for about 5 foot of the sidewalk in a dip, gets filled with meltwater and freezes overnight.  Threw salt on it but it is a losing battle.

A couple of years ago I was walking the dogs and slipped.  As I am going up in the air I remember thinking  this is going to hurt.  I remember waking up with one of the dogs licking my nose.  I have no idea how long i was out.    I am a EMT so I am always self doctoring myself, not necessarily a good thing. Anyway When my Wife got home I had her check my pupils and they were not equal or reactive.  A mild concussion I guess.  Since then I try and not go down.

How does that go over with the wife?

Sorry.  Couldn't pass it up.  Not GD, I know.
