Thanks lol When i grew up in Wisconsin it was a good conservative state I'm glad you are heading back in that direction. Was that in the days before becoming a state? It's still a mostly conservative state once you leave the confines of Madison and Milwaukee. |

Madison and Milwaukee may be traditional liberal cesspools, like Chicago, San Francisco, New York, etc. But the rest of this state is populated by maddeningly "liberal for my cause, conservative for all others" folks that are either so pro-union, pro-state employment, pro-gun control, anti-business, or wealth-envious that it's really hard to call them conservatives. |

I think you're going to find that even in traditionally 'conservative' states. I'm not saying it's right or wrong...just that people typically look out for themselves without regard to whether or not the net result is a negative for society. |

There are a lot of "book liberals" in the Fox Valley area too. Those are people that see liberalism elsewhere and apply it to their small community while never realizing the big-city liberals are blinded of the consequences of their actions. The results are stuff like libraries falling over backwards to let homeless sleep in them or download porn on the computers when really they should be just kicked out. They make up a bunch of fake rights to let someone monopolize a computer or couch all day rather than deal with the damn bum appropriately. Mix that with small town pride and general lack of exposure to life in general and you get authoritarian acceptance of all sorts of crap by people who don't recognize themselves as liberals but who really are. ![]() ![]() |

I agree. This state is very liberal. There are some good things being done, but aside from that, as a whole, it's pretty liberal here. |
