| I am currently deployed in Afghanistan and i am trying to mail in my CCW application so it is ready for use when i get home. Does anyone here know what form, or paperwork i can send in as proof of training? would an infantry basic training cerificate work? or do i need more? thanks for the help guys |

From the top of page 8 on the DOJ's FAQ:
"Documentation of completion of small arms training while serving in the U.S. armed forces as demonstrated by an honorable discharge or general discharge under honorable conditions or a certificate of completion of basic training with a service record of successful completion of small arms training and certification." I hope that helps, and stay safe over there! sab |

If you have been REFRAD (REleased FRom Active Duty) before, then your DD214 would be fine (such as Guard/Reserve getting done with Basic/AIT.) But if you've been active your entire career and don't have 214 yet, I'd hope Infantry School would be more than sufficient.
Let us know how it goes! |

Quoted:
Infantry certificate doesn't mean anything. DD214 with honorable discharge unless you want your form kicked back and have to redo it. For that matter I would have sent them my ASI B4 diploma, but still would not matter to them. This +1 your MOS doesn't matter....DD 214 will work. your infantry "diploma" may not work and cause you more waiting time bronk1 did you go through Benning or Robinson for your B4? |

For all the guys saying a DD214, i am still active duty, so i have no honorable discharge. Im asking what paperwork i can send in that i would have while still being in the army? Can you get a DD214 before you leave the army? if so, how do i get one? Basic Training Certificate might work (it should according to the language on the application... but you never know.) |
