So my father is 70yrs old just had surgery on his foot and got his disabled hunter permit in the mail! He is excited because he hasn't missed opening day in probably 50-60 yrs lol.  My concern is shooting from the truck? It's his right foot and cannot put pressure on it and needs it elevated some.  He was thinking of sitting on drivers side back against door, put right foot up on the bench seat and shoot out the open passenger /ex cab doors? Not much of a shooting lane.   Other option is Rey n drg him out in a wheel chair then bring a stool to keep leg up but might not get to far with chair.
Just wondering if anyone had any tips? Sorry for the grammar n spelling I'm typin with my phone

As long as he has the proper disabled permit from the DNR, he can shoot from the vehicle. My father has done so for many years. Pretty much anywhere in the vehicle is ok....doesn't have to be any specific position. My old man usually rides shotgun, and carries a handgun or carbine for ease of manuvering. He currently only has use of the right side of his body (stroke), so the passenger side works well.

ETA: Make sure when he shoots, the muzzle is OUTSIDE of the vehicle, and he's not resting directly on the window or glass.

Thanks for the info! And you just made me think about it a little more. If he shoots from the truck the way I described before the muzzle would be in the vehicle. We're going to have to rethink it hah maybe he will be forced to use on of my ar's that he hates because of the ease of use like u said.

As long as you both have ear pro (or suppressors...legal to hunt with in WI...still on the loud side though in a vehicle) you should be ok. But just remember that the inside of the vehicle will act like an echo chamber.

I'm wearing my electronic muffs this year. If he forgets to get the muzzle out of the vehicle....oh well.

Another thing to think about.... if you don't already have a place to hunt, check with the nearest state park. I know up in my area, they will open sections of the park specially for handicapped hunters.
