Is it just me or are Wisconsin's deer hunting regulations confusing as all get out?  I am a new landowner with an out of state license in a CWD zone.  I THINK I can shoot either a buck or a doe but the whole "earn a buck" thing confuses me.  I will be calling the state for clarification but the rules seem really unclear.

Am I the only one?

You should have gotten a rule guidelines booklet with your license.  See page 9.
If you are in a EAB unit, you may shoot your first buck without shooting a doe using your normal Buck Carcass tag.   All subsequent bucks must be according to the EAB standards using the CWD Carcass tags.

One buck deer per unused Gun Buck Deer Carcass Tag (without EAB).
Also, one buck deer per unused antlerless or CWD deer carcass tag
provided a valid Buck Authorization Sticker is affixed to the back OR
an unregistered antlerless deer tagged by the same hunter accompanies
the buck deer until both are registered. Also, one antlerless deer per
additional unused antlerless or CWD deer carcass tag.

RIF. (Reading is fundamental). I've never known them to be confusing, then again, I've always hunted here.
