Could we tolerate each other enough to have dinner together?
Where? When? Ideas? |
Since the majority of you guys are from the S.E. part of the State, it only makes sense to have it there. Which leaves me out. There's nothing on this Earth that'd get me out of the northwoods and "down there". Sorry. I've been to Milwaukee once, I've been to Racine once, Madison 3 times (once to testify in Fed court, twice to attend CC hearings). That's my lifetime quota. I absolutely positively refuse to go south of Wausau for any reason. No offense to anyone... and hey, have fun. edit: only one thing could get me south of Wausau again... if there was a family reunion in Mauston. But we haven't had one of those in 20 years. All the "organizers" have died off.

I would love too but I'm on the other side of the state. AP and I can't even find the time to get together when I'm over there. And I'm pretty sure I owe him a dinner now. Were even on dinner, but we do need to hit the range. Of course it's going to get below 50* soon so it will be too cold for you. As for a HTF dinner I'm in. Sounds like fun. |

Come on now, don't make me sound like a wuss. It was like 30 below and I didn't care what new rifle you had I was perfectly content sitting in my truck watching you freeze your ass off shooting it. I'm pretty sure I came out to help you find the brass when your fingers quit working and the frostbite started setting in.

Kodiak Jacks Oshkosh was a decent place last time. Table setup kinda sucked though. One huge long table means you only sem to interact with the folks right next to you. What we need is a place with folding chairs and tv tables so folks can cluster around whereever tehy plop their seat. |

Also If I recall correctly they asked us to leave while we where conversing cause they wanted to turn the table. We spent a pretty good amount of coin and I know some guys were still drinking so It seemed pretty premature to ask us to leave. I don't mind the location but maybe a different venue would be better. |

Yup. They bounced us a little prematurely considering the money we spent. |

I agree on the long rectangle issue. You talk to a couple folks and that is about it. Something with a big ol' round table? Any ideas? I guess it depends on the count. Buca's in Milwaukee for example has a large round table that seats 18 called the Pope's table. Not suggesting we do this at Buca's though. Fu#k me, I can't even imagine the horror of having to work family style dining with some of you...... ![]() Something more with bar tables and you push 'em up together in whatever shape can work for a larger group. Some stand, some sit, mingle, etc. Something like a BW3's works because you can get a number of tables grouped and just make it work... but I know how that place goes over around here. Anyway –– that concept, "bar-ish" type place, that type of food, people can come and go, just have a drink if they don't want to eat, whatever. Might be good for Round 1 ice breaker? Thinking out loud here. |

I've had meetings T Appleton HUhut before (enter on the right side and they cand set tables in a rectangle - our group was 14).
They can acommodate but are interested in a high turn-over and got a bit pushy after 90 minutes of being seated. Isn't there a bar restaurant in Fondy on the other side of the airport that has cheap good food and a nice sized bar when you enter? Fried turtle and some other unusual things on the menu? V OUT |

Mini-meet for those who want fried turtle, etc. |

Lets just ransack Unique1's house for some good food one night. ![]() Let me call Collin, I bet I could feed 30 at my house. Let's see: tri-tip, chickens, briskets, pulled pork, ribs or all kind, brats, steaks, and a potato.
...and about 30 pounds of bacon.

I would chip in some major $$ to get that rollin. |
