Is that JB's way to get around hunters safety being allowed as proper training?
My hunters safety cert is not signed... |
|
My NRA Basic Pistol certificate is not signed by the instructor, but does have his typed name and NRA ID number. Wonder if that will work...
All my other training certificates from Tactical Response and Impact Training are signed by the instructor. My DD214 is signed. I guess I'll just send a copy of all of them.. lol |

You mean hours wasted playing "Rainbow6" won't count either? ![]() That is only applicable if you have prestiged at least once in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1 or 2. If you have played Black Ops you are prohibited from carrying anything. What if i played black ops for 2 hours, was disgusted and sold it? And have prestiged 3 times on both MW1 and MW2 |

My hunters safety cert is not signed... Neither is my DD214. These government issued documents will be accepted as issued just like a copy of another State's license/permit which is not signed by the trainer is accepted as issued. I see, i guess i didn't read any distinction between the two types of documents. Thanks. |
| The AACFI cetificate I got from BDJ for the MN permit class is signed and dated by the instructor... twice. Once for the classroom, once for the shooting range. It does not say "where" the class took place, but it does specify that it is for the MN permit to carry license, and meets the curriculum that MN law specifies (which is 8 hrs long). What does DOJ mean by "where" the class took place? Do they mean is it a MN, UT, etc designed class, or are they asking to know the actual physical location where the class was held? State? City? Town? Address? |

If not and you submit your MN application at the Washington County Sheriff office in Stillwater MN, you will get your permit in time for November 1st. They have been taking less than 2 weeks to your door. I dropped mine off on a Friday and got it by the next Saturday. I know of others with a similar experience as recent as August or September. |

What good is that going to do? Can't carry in WI as Wi resident with permit from another state anyway. |

An out of state permit (with similar requirements, IIRC) will qualify you for a WI permit. No training cert needed. There is no stipulation for "similar requirements". It can even be expired. (4) TRAINING REQUIREMENTS. (a) The proof of training requirement under sub. (7) (e) may be met by any of the following:
3. A current or expired license, or a photocopy of a current or expired license, that the individual holds or has held that indicates that the individual is licensed or has been licensed to carry a firearm in this state or in another state or in a county or municipality of this state or of another state unless the license has been revoked for cause. |

I got my MN permit in Pine County, back in 2006. It took 13 days. I'm not renewing MN because they require another training class. If I must take another class, I'd rather take a UT class and get a UT permit (honored in MN).. With a UT & WI, I'll have the same state reciprocity (states where I can carry) that I'd have with WI, MN, and my current FL permit (which has 11 months left before expiration).... and at half the cost. |

Since you have an actual permit, what is printed on the training certificate from Bill is irrelevant in your case as you simply have to submit a copy of your MN permit even if it is expired... Yup, I know that. I was just commenting on how my particular certificate does have the instructor's signature. I've seen some by other instructors, that did not have a "signature"... just the instructor's name. printed. I've got the expired MN permit, an expired FL permit, and a current FL permit to send in on Nov. 1st. |
