Does anyone know if Gander has the Beretta A400's in stock?  How about Binelli SBEII's?  Remington Versa-Max?

Looking into a new auto-loading shotgun and want to fondle some...don't want to make the drive if they don't usually have them...

Thanks!

If it were me, I would call Gander.

You know as well as I do what kind of genius they hire for the gun counter.

Asked for a G29 once and the man handed me a G17.  When i told him that wasn't the one i wanted...he stated that ALL glock frames are the same anyway so it doesn't matter.

I'd rather not fill my mind full of fuck talking to them.

So plans changed drastically last night for reasons that are not important and I ended up with about 45 minutes to burn in Janesville.

They had all three...pretty sure i'll be ordering a Beretta A400 Xplore Unico...not sure about the kickoff...

Anyway, I watched a kid dump 3 new rifles on the ground.  He picked up one and somehow tipped three others off the rack and they slammed on the concrete

Employee's didn't say anything to him, they didn't check the rifles for damage, nothing.  His(i assume) dad just told him to pick them up and quit messing around...

No wonder I don't buy shit from this place.

I've bought 2 guns from there, my .308 Remington 770 (new) and my NEF Pardner (used). I made sure the 770 came from in back, in a fresh unopened, undamaged box, not the "I've been fingerbanged by everyone in town" floor model.

The NEF was used so... eh....

I looked at the A400 earlier this spring and fondled a bunch of them looking for a sporting clays gun. I like store likes Scheels and Gander where you can go in a play with all the guns yourself without being hassled too much. It's too bad I couldn't shoot a bunch of them prior to purchasing.

I liked the feel of the A400, but I ended up getting the Benelli SuperSport...it just felt better. I'm happy with my choice (hell, I probably would have been happy with the A400 since they were both close in feel).

Good luck with your purchase.

You should watch shotgunworld.com for used guns. They had a few nice looking A400's on there a while ago.

You know, i held a super sport last night too.  I really liked that one.

I shoot a lot of really light sport loads and the Benelli inertia system seems to sometimes have problems with the really light stuff.  I really don't want to spend that kind of money to figure it out either.

I have been watching SGW lately for used guns...thanks though!

After I swore off GM, I went in and bough a Benelli Nova.  I've never owned a shotgun, so I'm basically getting in to see if I like the scatter gun.  It's a good thing I knew exactly what I wanted, because the kid at the counter picked up a Mossberg 835 when I asked for the Nova.  Then, when he brought my box out, he showed me the extra "shell holders" that came with it.  Uhhhh....you mean choke tubes?  Yikes....

Wow that's pretty nuts. Admittedly everyone I've ever talked to at Gander was at least somewhat knowledgable about what they were selling. You gotta look for the older gents, the ones working there during their retirement to get sweet deals on their hobby. A friend of mine's dad is doing just that, and every year he gets a gun for dealer price. I'm talking high-end Benellis, Remingtons, etc... the guy "makes it count".
