My opinion: Considering how many signatures it takes to pull off initiating a recall, and then the likelihood of actually winning one now that the it's going to be on the downswing, this is probably more effort than it's worth.
But one thing I'll bet on, we're going to lose majority control in 2 years. Probably our governor too, as I'm pretty sure he's eye'ing a VP seat. Which mildly bugs me, since the clowns will likely reverse a lot of the progress at that time - sort of wish they played it a little lighter handed, to avoid that. (I'm full of Sunshine today! |

I've talked to the folks working on a recall of Lassa. Petitions are available, but they have not started gathering them at this point.

I think you're underestimating the support FOR Scott Walker by the "silent majority". Sure, this situation has likely made some voters switch their position... but that goes both ways. My wife and I both voted for one of the AWOL Dems, Jim Holperin. My wife and I both signed a recall petition to remove him. And don't just count up union membership numbers and assume they're all on the side of the Dems and against Walker. Of the union members that I know personally, both actively working or retired, all support Walker's bill (including 4 current members of WEAC and their spouses, 2 firefighters, 1 State Trooper (retired), 1 DNR warden (retired), and at least a half-dozen in private sector unions). The members of WEAC I spoke of are all pro-gun/pro-ccw Republicans, and are sick & tired of seeing their union give massive financial support to anti-gun Dem candidates like Jim Doyle and Hussein Obama. They only belong to WEAC because it's mandatory where they work... or it was. edit to add: I myself spent almost 20 yrs in a private sector, construction, union. I can see through the charade of "workers rights" and "war on the middle class" that the unions are trying to hide behind. It's about campaign money given almost exclusively to Democrats by public sector unions, who then get "repaid" with benefits & wages better than everyone else, by the Dems they elected.... paid for by tax dollars. The majority of this state are smart enough to see this is a bad situation, if they pay the taxes that support this whole "crooked" scheme. The Dem politicions and their union boss puppet-masters are fearful of the cash-cow going dry. |
