I have a friend that is looking to move to the area late summer to begin podiatry school in Il in the fall.  He will be there couple of years and likes hunting, fishing, and shooting.  That's kinda the reason he is moving to Wi to go to school in Il.

Can you give rundown of the area, attractions, and the hunting/fishing.

Thanks,
Wes

Fishing is easy. There are lakes all over the state.

Hunting public land around the metropolitan areas is not for the feint of heart. Lots of folks with bad judgment and worse marksmanship are piled on top of one another. I did it once and then decided to go out during muzzle loader week or as an archer. Open gun-deer around here is ... scary. The responsible folks who bother to sight-in sometimes have trouble hitting a 6 foot by 6 foot target at 100 yards. Minute of atlatl.

Shooting. Well. If he comes here and convinces someone that he's a good guy he'll probably get invited to a range session and take it from there. I barely ever have time to shoot any more. My club dues are more of a donation to the cause. I'm wearing out snap caps like a mofo.

What about marshy areas, bayous?  He is an airboater.

Any other forms of entertainment?

Liquor and corn-fed women?

I don't know of any airboaters around here.

I've seen airboats out on the Lower Wisconsin Riverway, the last stretch before the Mississippi.
