What kind of price are they getting (asking) for a Russian SKS these days ?
2/3/2010 5:51:35 PM EDT
[#1]
A year ago at the Franklin show I picked up a Russian SKS in very good shape for a little over $300.  Asking price was $350.  Too bad I lost it in a boating accident, it is, umm, I mean was a good shooter.

Asking and getting are two different things. People been asking over 300 and even over 400. A nice refurb tula at the last FD show sat on a table with 275 tag for a while. It sold Sunday, not sure what the final price was.

Just sold a minty refurb 53 Tula on GB about two months ago for $475.  She had the trippy blonde/red laminated wood that changes colors when you shift it in the light.

GB is different, local sales never get to the same level.

I've never been to a gun show in my life. I was thinking about heading over their Sunday. I might be looking for a XDm in 40cal any of the venders carrying anything like that? How were the prices on ammo and stuff for comparisons? Anything good or just old junk? I'm good on AR stuff and ammo but looking for a pistol. Unfortunately I don't buy anything without knowing what its going for so even if I see something that turns my crank I won't buy unless I know what the market value is.

ain't that the truth.
not a single vendor that had pmags would cut me a deal.
3 for $50 i pretty fair i think. considering everyone sells them online for less than $15 a piece.
they all wanted in the neighborhood of $20.

Was there any time that the place was full of vendors ? My 2nd time there.Picked up an ammo box ( $10.00)  Didnt want to come home empty handed and have the Warden ask if I was feeling OK.

I was there today.    Picked up a Hex receiver Mosin Nagant.  It was a better price than if I ordered it on line and had to pay shipping.
I then got cut a better deal because i had my C&R FFl with me so I .am happy.  Over all I think the prices of most stuff was down from last year at this time, including ammo.
One jerk of a dealer was telling a customer rudely how in 1962 he bought that gun for $78.   There was no way the dealer was old enough to buy a gun in 1962.  I was 7yrs old then and this jackbut was younger that I am.    I was disappointed though I was looking for a stock for an AR I am building and did not see anything I liked.

really? i saw a few magpuls and a LMT SOPMOD. plenty 6 pos. stocks...
what were you looking for?
an A2 stock perhaps?

I saw the magpuls and the others , I just did not see what I was looking for.   I am not sure exactly what I want but I will know it when I see it.
I also need to decide what caliber and barrel length to get. I bought the lower rec and parts kit fall of 08 before obama and after stuff took off I just set it aside.  Since stuff is coming back down I am starting to look for stuff now.

Or A Chain Gun Barrel

My girlfriend and I stopped by. We had a lot of fun looking at the stuff and some of the people. Found an XDm I was looking for but it was BI-Tone with a olive bottom and I wanted a black bottom, plus the price was way more then I wanted to pay. Some one had sold one that I believe was all black but the asking price wasn't bad I might have considered it. I actually was thinking about the 9mm he had but I decided to hold off. Did see what I would consider a good price on an XD .45 that I would have bought before they announced the XDm45 was coming. Over all the prices (except the insane people) and selection were better then I though a local gun show would have. I guess I should have attended  some shows sooner.

Anyone see the AR pistol with the Beta mag for $2600. Damn thing was so cute I'm going to have to build one now!

Thats why I need to build one.

Yep, I believe that's what I seen, posted it when I came home after we went to lunch so it should have been fresh in my mind. But now I truly can't remember could be because of the Superbowl and I'm drinking! I remember seeing two and one was like $1500 and this one was alot more expensive. Now to be honest it didn't have a receiver extension and I didn't hold it so I cant be sure what the whole deal was but it was an AR15 lower. I'm not a gun freak (yet) so it might have been some unobtainable something that I don't know about. I just remember seeing it and thinking how cool it was as I've never seen an AR pistol in real life and I dislike them on the internet. When I seen the price I gasped and turned to my girl and said holly shit pretty loud and the dude checking it out gave me a dirty look.  I was also surprised to see old non-colt 20" rifle stocked AR's (different seller) with $1500-$1600 marked on then to, could be collector stuff I don't know. Oh yea and the beat up looking beta mag for $299 FIRM.... I had fun.

I guess there is a show in Jefferson next week? My girlfriend wants to go, I cant believe it!

Ask the dealer to sell you the Luger or M1 Carbine at the price he paid in '62.

Yeah, but unlike the 11-87P, it wasn't for sale.    I'm still annoyed that the projo guy wasn't there.

It will be when the F1 is approved.
