Now remember people, the egg nog is not for chugging and if you don't get all the kid's gifts put together correctly the first time they will still love you.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Merry Christmas folks.  Maybe we'll get some snow this afternoon here in SE WI to make it look more like Xmas and less swampy.  (I hate rain in the winter. )

So, what did everyone get?

I only got one thing, but it was enough.

TCS007, looks like we had a similar Christmas!  My Grandfather took a CZ-27 pistol from a German flier during WW2.  My Grandmother gave it to my Dad when Grandpa passed in 1993 and I was given the pilot's hat.  (It was folded up and languished in a box for over half a century before I got it.)

Today, my Dad gave me Grandpa's captured CZ-27 for Christmas.  The holster and one mag are original.  The gun had a second mag but it was lost during a move when my Dad was just a kid.  The only thing not original on the pistol is the firing pin.  To be allowed to bring it home, Grandpa had to break the firing pin.  Sometime in the 50s, my Dad carried the '27 down to a long-since-shuttered gun shop on National Avenue in Milwaukee. The gunsmith hand spun a replacement pin.

I'm in awe and am grateful.
