Wausau-area farmer arrested in shooting incident with repo man

The Associated Press • August 5, 2009

WAUSAU — Investigators say a central Wisconsin farmer has been arrested for target shooting as his farm machinery was being repossessed.

Marathon County Sheriff’s Lt. Frank Hanousek says the 39-year-old Wausau area farmer was arrested Wednesday on police charges of misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Hanousek says the farmer kept shooting when the repossession man arrived, and the man thought the farmer was firing at him. No one was injured.

Hanousek says the farmer was about 70 yards away from the repossession man when he fired the gunshots.

what is even sadder, is there seem to be no penalties for arresting somebody on BS charges.  (if that is the case here, I don't really know)

Could be more to the story than meets the eye.

I'm going to go with this one for now, however I reserve the right to change my answer to WTF at a later time if the PD did in fact blow the goose on this one.

I second that. I hate to make opinions without all the facts. If there is anything I've learned going through the Criminal Justice program at FVTC, it's that you should never make an opinion or comment on something especially a police-encounter based purely on a news article and without all the facts.

Completely agreed. We don't all want to look stupid like Obama.
