I don't agree on the issue of banning firearms in parks and parkways... but in a store, i some what agree.

I think of a store as a man's or woman's home. They make the rules and I will respect their rules and walking into their establishment.

Why let the governemnt dictate that though.  If I own a store, I want to be able to make the descision if i want people to carry guns, smoke ciggarettes etc, I don't want someone to make that descision for me.

I respect thier wishes also, and do my business elsewhere!  I live on the border, and used to go to WI a lot to shop, but as I can't legally carry there (yet) I find myself not going over the bridge as often. (to much hassle unloading/locking/secureing my carry piece)

In MN I don't patronize any establishment that posts "Weapons Not Permitted"

Once the City/State/Federal folks start to ban weapons, it just keeps going, and it's dang near impossible to reverse those new statutes.  Do your part, please, speak up against it!

the proposed legislation didn't stop businesses from asking you to leave....  they already have the right to ask you to leave, if you don't you are subject to a trespassing citation...

what this legislation did do was take the discretion out of the business owners hands, even if they didn't want you to get a ticket the police could still cite you.  Also it did not specify anything about the size or location of the signage, the font, the size of the font, etc, etc...  so if they posted a 2" x 3" sign and you didn't see it you would be subject to the fine...

on top of that, based on the comment of people who attended some/most of the people voting on this weren't even aware of what open carry was (even the person who proposed this bill)....  one of our people had to explain it.  [shakes head]

Here's a thought - how about we vote these bastards out of office during the next election?  How do these rapists of the Constitution continue to get into office?

I've been wanting to post a detailed message, but haven't been able to find the time to do it, and will post a brief message instead.

I want to thank the people who attended for the fantastic turnout at the Greenfield council meeting. There were a lot of speakers, and a resolution still hasn't been reached. Things look favorable for defeating the proposed ordinance, but we don't know how things will turn out and should plan on attending the next meeting.
