Watch video. At 3:37 our good mayor starts spewing at the mouth about having "crazy guns" on the streets. No where did he say anything about the crazies who are behind the guns. My prayers go out to the two officers and their families. LINK TO STORY Stay Safe! Carl |

Watching the video I'm impressed at the job these officers did and how the Chief of police answered questions without going ‘anti’ on us.
It sounds like the community really came through and was a huge part of the arrest of the perp. I was not at all impressed by the mayor......................it appears that he blames the 'crazy guns' not the freakin punk ass kid who pulled the trigger. When are these mindless Liberals going to extract there heads from there back sides and realize that the 'crazy guns' need a crazy punks to pull the triggers. My heart goes out to the officers.................................. |

So, sounds like the Mayor is hinting at a "hand gun" ban in Milw again. So, generally, that means no legal hand guns in Milw?- Someone should point out that the shooter was 18. He wasn't in possession of a LEGAL hand gun. This makes a strong point for the "when guns are outlawed, only the criminals will have guns" deal...... except for the ones that went down in tragic boating accidents
BTW, I am assuming the shooter wasn't walking down the road with a long gun.. didn't catch if they said if he had a pistol or a rifle I wish the officers a speedy recovery - |

Preemption prohibits any ban. Only as long as the preemption remains in place. There has been talk in Madison about repealing that, especially with the crazy open carry people. It's a sad state of affairs, is't it Glenn? How have you been? Busy! But good. Might try to make a class in Racine in October. We'll see. Quoted:

Please elaborate I'm just reflecting the views of a LOT of people in Madison. My God, if it's legal to carry guns around, maybe that pre-emption statute isn't such a good idea!! I don't personally believe open carry people are crazy. I support the purpose of open carry marches when they are used to push a CCW bill. It raises awareness. But right now they might just be poking the bear with a stick, if there's no hope of getting CCW with Doyle and a Democratic house & assembly. Legislature could always change the law to "no guns within 1 mile of a school" and eliminate state preemption laws (as there is already talk of doing). Or just pass an AWB (yeah, nothing to do with open carry, but why not pass one anyway). Tell you what, I think the state democrats have really shown their colors in this budget bill process. I am NOT optimistic. I think open carry is a horrible idea from a tactical standpoint. From a political standpoint, well, I just don't know.
