I wanted to let everyone know that there is a buying freeze on all 223 ammo.
This comes from the possibility and likely hood of a general shortage of 223 once fired brass. This is an order that came down from the DLA that states that all spent munitions must be destroyed as part of the sale to purchase from the govenment. If this is true, which it is looking to be. Expect ammunition prices to increase dramatically. In fact WICC has already raised their prices on 55gr fmj 223 to $600 per K. I am putting a sales freeze on 223 for now until we know for sure what is taking place and if it can be reversed. Thank you all for your patronage. Anyone that has orders in now will have them filled. Thank you, DFS LLC. Edit to add This will also include .308 and 50BMG. |

looks like the Anti gun, Obama worshippers are getting their way...make ammo soooo expensive that they can't buy it...who needs an AWB.
ETA: I was about 3 weeks away from placing that order with you for a 1000 rounds too.

so very glad i put back a LOT of 223 brass....
i guess it pays to be a brass whore.. my fiance swears i was a squirrel in my past life, and brass casings are my items of interest for stockpiling... the 50BMG part disturbs me as i do not have near enough components for it. then again i do not own a BMG so i guess that evens out then... i suppose bullet swagging will become popular now... |

Eric said it might be helpful to call our Congressmen just in case and make them aware of the impact on the DOD budget, police training, and inidividual rights. Anyway, I thought I would give you this information as soon as I could. Sounds like GREAT NEWS TO ME!!! We need to stay on this, though. I will get you the NRA-ILA phone number so you can call them next week if you want. From earlier this morning... I just got off the phone with SV and GL with people I know very well. As of yesterday (3/12/09) ALL brass is only to be sold as scrap and as such, must be destroyed. It will no longer require an EUC, so that scrap buyers can pick it up immediately and submit the destruction certificate. Sounds like a move to help the metals buyers in the volitile markets. In the SV managers words... "The reloaders are screwed." Dear Valued Customer: Please take a moment to note important changes set forth by the Defense Logistics Agency: Recently it has been determined that fired munitions of all calibers, shapes and sizes have been designated to be Demil code B. As a result and in conjunction with DLA's current Demil code B policy, this notice will serve as official notification which requires Scrap Venture (SV) to implement mutilation as a condition of sale for all sales of fired munitions effective immediately. This notice also requires SV to immediately cease delivery of any fired munitions that have been recently sold or on active term contracts, unless the material has been mutilated prior to sale or SV personnel can attest to the mutilation after delivery. how can we help get this resolved because i hurts a lot of people. Writing and/or talking to your congressmen would be the best at this point. If this turns out to be true. Many people will lose a lot. If the admin is behind this, it is a strange way of creating jobs.
