Say i have my handgun/rifle in its case with no loaded magazine in the magwell but i have several loaded mags in the case with it. Is it legal to transport a firearm in this manner in Wisconsin? I was reading the faq and gathered it is but i want some second opinions.

That is my understanding as well. I transport with loaded mags all the time. I do however make sure my mags are in a different zipped up compartment that is segregated from the weapon. Then no chance of a mag "accidentally" getting into the magwell.

Unloaded Firearm, stored in a case. Unloaded means no round in the chamber and none in the confines of the magazine well.

Loaded magazines are fine as long as they are NOT loaded into the firearm therefore NOT in the magwell.

this is what I was told when I took a class for Utah carry permit on Oct. 18th with Mr. & Mrs. Bender as Instructors...

I travel with my Hk USP, Unloaded, with four loaded 10rd magazines sitting next to the firearm inside the case. I always leave the slide in the rear locked position to immediatly allow clearing of the firearm if someone other than me were to open up the case...

Flamethrower: you do have a good point though... it would be just my luck that a mag could slip in place or something... hmmm......
