ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() Hey look I got some Tattoo bait....... |
|
Yah, good class! I'll have to study the area around here and see how I can apply it. It'll be mostly public hunting grounds, I'm afraid, and around here in Dane County, they can get pretty busy in the fall, but not so much in middle of winter. I'm probably looking at landsets for the most part. "No handles on beaver" |

the short plastic piece of tubing is where your support wire is placed on the cable restraint. if you are asking about the cable stake attachment, you place the end of the cable stake without the foot through the swivel on the cable restraint and then put the foot through the loop and pull tight. |
you are correct about retrieving it after the thaw. you need a minimum of about 2 feet for most species of animals. |
Why don't you also tell tattoo that he sucks at life too....??? Ok next question after hanging out over at Trapperman.com Can i use a Galvenized steel garbage can to boil my traps in.. NEW of course.. and what are you thoughts of using white vinegar to clean up rusty traps... Gene looks like I'll be making a run down your way for supplies after I sell my KAHR.. Your Friendly Neighborhood Keyboard Commando |
I have never used a garbage can, but dont see why you could not do it. using vinegar to clean up rusty traps will leave a vinegar odor on them, so you would still need to boil them. Which kahr do you have that you are trying to sell. |
He Looks scarier then you |

Hey Tattoo... I found something for you Tattoo bait..... <---- click me Watch me get him in a leg hold trap. ( Is it Tattoo trapping season yet?) ....

Next Question!! I was reading.. IMAGINE THAT....Yes I can read!!!!! I was reading the Duke trap info at Fleet Farm.. And Jerry you are right they are over priced....It stated that if you were going to trap Fox and Yote's you needed to wax your traps?? Is this true?? Or can I just boil then and then dip them and use them like Also what would be the best number/Size for COON using a Leg Hold trap? And how far would you suggest spreading traps out on a line? I've got a Corn field I'm gonna trap and If I place traps along the edge how far apart on my line should they be? BTW the Kahr I'm selling is a P45. With less than 40 rounds though it.. I just like my E9 better. If your Interested PM me.. I'll tell you more about it. Your Friendly Neighborhood Keyboard Commado |
The other thing is Lokltkr knows his stuff and his prices are great!! Gander's sales staff more than likely won't know what the hell there talking about.. |
In my humble opinon FUCK GANDER!!!!!! That is all , nothing really to add , I just never miss a chance to Gander bash.... Fucking douchenozzles ..... |
you know IMHO even if his prices were a few bucks more it would still be a better deal to go to Lokltkr.. who at gander will spend a hour or 3 explaing it to you. and offer to go out on a line with you |
Traps don't need to be waxed unless you use log wood dye to treat them. The speed dip I used Saturday is enough. You simply don't want to contaminated the trap with a bunch of odors after treating them either with log wood dye or speed dip. the way I keep mine is to put them into a rubber maid tote with some pine branches. that way no outside odors get to them. As for the information saying you need to wax they are just trying to get you to buy more high priced equipment. As far as coon go 1 1/2 size traps are great for coon, If I have a lot of sign I will put up to 5-6 traps in any given area. you can always pull the non productive ones later. but if you only set one trap you will only catch one animal. when trapping coon the thing to remember is they always travel in some kind of group except during mating season. Just remember to put the traps far enough away from each other so the animals can not get to one another or they will fight and tear each other up. now having said that about waxing traps there will be guy who say they don't like speed dip but you will have to figure out what works best for you as you go. these same guys are ones who will worry about human odor around their sets , but a I stated Saturday there is no place in Wisconsin that yotes can go where they wont smell human scent. If I was trapping out west in the desert than I would be more scent conscious. |
