I am going to be making a run up to Duluth this week, and had heard 90/94 north of Madison near the Dells had been closed.   Is this still so?

My route usually is 12 to 18 to 90/94 up to 53 and then 53 to Superior.

I was thinking of just taking 94w to 894 to 94w over to 90/94 and up to 53.

Are there any closures that I should be aware of?

Thanks!

94 is closed between Delafield and Madison. You might be better off heading for Rockford first (not knowing what the situation is on the Rock River south of the IL-WI border) then taking 90/39 north.

39 is closed at highway 33 near portage you best bet is going to be 41 to either 21,10 or 29 and make your way over on one of those roads.

There are spots on 18 in Jeff Co. that are under water, right about parallel with the spots on 94 that are closed.  Basically, don't even think about Wesrbound travel through Jefferson County.

The rivers are still rising.

Smaller county and local road closures are not mapped.

A version of the route I take to Diversiville - 12 to 43, 43 to 14, 14/11 to Business 14 (south side of J'ville) to 90, then into town.

Correct.  Detours are a mess in Jefferson County which 94 runs through.  My wife spoke with some people whose spouses work usually work in Milwaukee.  The Interstate detour adds another 100 miles or so.  Fortunately for them they can work at home during this time.

Don't even think of travel in Jefferson County period. Water is blocking the left lane of I-94 east bound between Lake Mills and Johnson Creek now. It was backed up about five miles today, tons of people getting off at Lake Mills but everything's closed around here too.

ETA: One of my neighbors is on the county disaster management board (or whatever it's officially called) they said they're looking at the possibility of building a by-pass for 94. I don't know why they could possibly need that, but it must be pretty bad. Then they closed highway B and you just can't get anywhere. Tried using 106 in Fort yesterday, over by 26 the water is up to the road, on some of the side streets it has to be ten feet deep. On the east side of Fort it was on the road coming through the sand bags.

ETA 2: Check here if you zoom in and hit "traffic" it will tell you what's closed, no matter how small the road.

OK.   So how is picking up 14 in IL and running up to Janesville and hopping on 90.   Then taking 90 up to 90/94?    I am only seeing a small closure near the Baraboo area, but it appears to be the road running across 90/94 (it appears to be hwy 33).   Is that accurate?  Is 90 94 open?

Thanks guys!

ETA - I grew up spending every weekend and summer at our house on Lake Koshkonong.  With all the water coming down the Rock, how are the water levels and how is Indian Ford Dam holding up?

Ahh yes and everyone thought I was nuts because I have like 6 routes to the BO location. If a little rain can fuck up the roads like this imagine a major SHTF situation.

Your best bet is to head north first( oshkosh, appleton) and then take Hwy10 or 29?? accross the state. I was racing last weekend up in New Richmond and it took us 8 hrs to get up there. Some of the ofther guys took 12 or more. STAY AWAY from the central part of the state if possible.

This morning's paper says $900k will be spent to build a detour over the median so traffic can travel both directions on the east bound lanes.

Take 41 north to oshkosh then head west on Hwy. 21 and hook back up with 94 in Tomah. Racine to Oshkosh is about 1 hour 40 min. 41 to 94 would be about the same approx. That will steer you clear of the mess in the south half of the state.

Thanks everyone!.  Took 14w to Janesville, hopped on 90W and scooted right up.  90, 90/94 and 53 were wide open.   Around the dells I saw a lot of water standing on both sides of the interstate and in the median as well, but everything was great.   That google map is dang spot on.
