| I will be up in Eagle River in August. Anyone on the board from around there? I'll probably go to the county range outside of town. |
|
I'm not from the Eagle River area, but I have been to the range there while on vacation. It's a nice little range - no ROs, just show up and shoot. There was a donation box to drop a few $ in. Pistol range, rifle range and I think a shotgun area, but bring your own clay thrower. The area itself has plenty to do. Fishing, boating, trails for hiking or biking, horseback riding, go carts, mini golf. Plenty of places to eat and drink too. Generally very friendly folks all around. |

Oh yeah, we've been going up there since the 80s. It sure has changed! The Eagle River range if I remember correctly is north of town on 45 a few miles. Its on the right hand side and I think there is a brown sign that says range or something. You'll drive down a gravel road for a bit and then there is the range. |

Take some pics of what the range looks like if you go there, so we can see what it looks like. There is a range somewhere in Boulder Jct. also, but I don't know much about it, and if it still has a handgun or rifle range. www.boulderjunctionshootingrange.com/index.htm www.lakelandtimes.com/main.asp?Search=1&ArticleID=5185&SectionID=13&SubSectionID=13&S=1 |
45N, about a mile (maybe less) past where 17 splits off, on the right. There is a brown rectangular sign that says vilas county shooting range, pictured above. |
Hey thanks - should be a nice place to learn up a couple of new shooters. |
Here they are. Looks the same as the others posted here.![]() The 10 yard (I think 10) pistol bench and backstop. ![]() There's the 100 on the far right, the bench and 50, and to the far left is the 25. ![]() The 100 bench and down range. ![]() Close shot of the 50 backstop. Look close and see Osama on the backstop. ![]() Entrance to to the shot range. ![]() Shot range. ![]() Parking lot. |
