Those are all just OK deals (The Mosin Nagant prices are not bad, but most of the Mosins I have seen at Dunhams recently aren't worth any more than that price. If you found a nice Mosin though.....) Although the 200 round can of Portugese linked .308 that I just bought from my local Dunhams for $60 was a pretty good deal (They only had one can and I'm pretty sure they won't be getting any more in for that price . This can had been sitting there for over a year.)

If the red part is actually a WASR chambered in 5.45x39 then I need to get to Dunhams. Well, first I need some money, but that is a good deal. |
The flyer shows it to be a thumb-hole stock Reg$350.00 Sale $239.99 Our investigative reporter MisterPX is in the field right now. |
WASR rifles are made in Romania and for the price are usually decent rifles. The only issue with the single stack rifles is that if you want to use high capacity magazines is that you would have to open the mag well up and add enough US made parts to satisfy 922r. Just make sure to look closely at the relationship of the front sight to the rear as sometimes the WASR sights can be canted. |

Since, I couldn't make it to the Bob & Rocco Gun Show in Waukesha (work, work, work) on any of the scheduled days, I stopped by the Dunham's on Bluemound Road in Brookfield the other day and picked up that WASR-10 hi-cap that was advertised for a sale price of $319.99. It was a GP WASR-10/63 and I got the last one. Though the sale was advertised for just the rifle and one mag, I somehow got away with a steal of a deal. When the girl at the register rang it up, the end total came out to be like $378 ($349 plus tax) or some weird amount. I noticed that it was an awful lot of sales tax to come from $319, so I told her (the cashier) that it was sale priced at $319. She then checked the sales ad and re-rang me up for $319 and I was on my way. As I was putting the rifle in the trunk I decided to inventory what was in the box; which was when I discovered the rifle came with TWO (2) 30rd. Magazines, a cleaning kit, and an oiler bottle! I guess they must have made a mistake. Anyway, the weapon was in great condition, though extra greasy with that molasses cosmoline. No bent/canted sights or gas block. Even the chamber was shiny. I'll be giving it a thorough cleaning soon and shooting within a week or so. |
It was supposed to come with all that stuff, Dunhams just advertises it wrong. All Century WASR-10s come with 2 30 round mags, sling, cleaing kit. AK mags are only worth about $7 anyways. OK, enough raining on your parade. You got a good rifle for a good price. I own 2 Century Romanian AKs. Very happy with them. Buy some ammo from AIM or Sportsmans Guide, and pick up some mags if you find a good deal. Ammo is going to cost you about $170-$175 shipped per 1000 rounds (sad but true Have fun! |
Holy crap, I just went to look at AK mag prices and they are up to $10-$15 each. It probably was a good thing the rifle comes with 2 mags! It looks like you will have to watch the Equiptment Exchange on this site pretty closely if you want to get AK mags for $8-$9. I saw a couple posts with that price, but they were all sold within an hour. I should have kept up to date on the AK mag market. I had no idea Wish I would have bought more than 25 when the prices were good. |
