I don't have my by-laws with me at work, and I was heading to RCLRC tonight so I can't check on this right now, so maybe you guys can help me.

In regards to holstered pistols while shooting, is this something that is allowed?  I think the only time I would do this is while I'm at the pistol range.

I'm not looking to just walk around the entire place with my gun on my side, but I would like to practice some pistol drills from my holster.  Is this allowed?  Then, after I finish shooting am I allowed to have my holstered firearm while I'm setting up targets, etc.?

Thanks.

I think there's some rules, but they're not in the bylaws.  IM photoman for the details.

I have always shot, drawn and had a sidearm on me while there. I don't think there is anything wrong on that end.

Thanks for the reply guys...

I'll IM photoman...

Batch114 - when you say "I don't think there is anything wrong on the end" you mean at the 25 yard range?

I didn't think it was a problem, but I'm new to the club and I'd rather not get the boot...

Anyone else can feel free to post about it... all the info I can get the better.

No glass targets!!

No tracers, either.

Flags must be flown during all live fire.

All rifle shooting is to the East, all shotgun (trap and skeet) is to the North.

The 25 Meter Range cannot be in use if the Military Range is in use.

Don't leave any target paper or carboard hangers behind; take down everything you put up.

That's about it from me.

You have to be sponsored by a current member of the club.

If you want to practice drawing and firing, that's fine.  No different than when IDPA or IPSC is there.  As long as you don't handle the firearm when people are downrange, and your shooting neighbors aren't giving you the evil eye, go for it.

I remember one guy saying during our walk that it's not a "hot" range.  Meaning you can't walk around with your weapon.  I recall him saying they we're trying to change that.  However, if I recall correctly, just about anything goes on the 25 yard range.  Meaning you could probably holster one there and be ok and walk around and do some drills.  But I'm pretty sure the rest of the range is shoot and put your weapon down on the line or in a case. Photoman can correct me if I'm wrong.
